India’s Incredible Investment Destination

Rajasthan is the land of majestic forts, beautiful palaces, vibrant folk dance and music, golden desert, world renowned wildlife sanctuaries and national parks, charming lakes, and delicious cuisines. The state has always been the most preferred destination for travel enthusiasts to make holidays unforgettable. The largest state in India, sprawling in an area of 342239 sq km, Rajasthan offers a wonderful opportunity for visitors to explore and get involved in adventure.

The number of tourists is growing steadily year on year. In the first half of the current year, 36.48 million domestic tourists visited Rajasthan, which is 63% higher than the pre-pandemic period of 2019. Foreign tourists also visit the state in huge numbers. In the first half of 2019, 8.46 lakh foreigners visited Rajasthan. These figures indicate the incredible tourism opportunities in the state, which is emerging as a hotspot for investors and tourism companies. The State Government, under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot, is leaving no stone unturned to provide a conducive and thriving business ecosystem for investors and entrepreneurs with appropriate policy measures and initiatives.

Connected to the World          

The state government has given adequate emphasis on connectivity, proving visitors with the best modes of transportation to move from one destination to another. It has the second largest rail route network and the third largest network of national highways. Besides, there is robust air connectivity to all the major cities in India and international destinations such as the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Singapore, Thailand, and others. This strong connectivity facilitates investors in making quick investment decisions across the state.

Ease of Doing Business         

The state government, under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot, has significantly improved its ease of doing business with easy policies to boost investment. Under Rajasthan Tourism Policy 2020, the government established a single window service at tourism department for obtaining online approvals/permissions.

Rajasthan Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Facilitation of Establishment and Operation) Act 2019 provides exemptions from all approvals and inspections such as permission, NOC, clearance, consent, approvals, registration, license, etc. under any state law in connection with the establishment or operation of an enterprise for 3 years. Also, the state government has developed a One Stop Shop facility “RAJNIVESH” to facilitate approval from 14 state departments under a single roof.

Emerging Trend

The state is also becoming a favourite wedding destination for people across the globe. This is a new avenue in tourism with huge potential. The state has many majestic forts, including UNESCO World Heritage sites, which offer a great opportunity to cater to this craze. Its a perfect time to invest in ‘Wedding Tourism’ and make Rajasthan the best global wedding destination.

Eco-tourism

As the trend for eco-tourism is rising by the day, the government has provided avenues for responsible and sustainable tourism in the state through the Rajasthan Eco Tourism Policy 2021. It promotes ecological conservation by encouraging and developing unique, highquality, low-impact ecotourism destinations.

 

Business Friendly Policies  : TOURISM CONCLAVE (7TH OCTOBER 2022)

Tourism Conclave at Invest Rajasthan Summit 2022 aims to hold insightful discussions on the role that tourism sector plays in supporting Rajasthan’s economic growth. Given the importance of tourism in Rajasthan, this event will also explore the tourism sector’s tremendous development potential.

This Conclave titled Tourism: A Game Changer for Economic Growth, will host leading luminaries from tourism sector who will share their perspectives on how the sector can achieve better growth in the future and improve its significance in the country’s economic development. This will feature discussions on topics such as sustainable and responsible tourism, ecotourism / wildlife tourism, films & social change and the role of digital interventions in boosting tourism.

INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES

  • Heritage Hospitality Units: Thousands of heritage properties across the state have the potential of being developed as heritage hospitality units.

  • MICE Tourism : Various Special incentives are being provided to Promoters intending to establish integrated MICE facilities comprising of convention centres, exhibition room and hotel.

  • Adventure Experiences : Special incentives are being provided to promote Adventure Tourism including Aero Tourism (Hot Air Ballooning, Parachuting, etc), Aqua Tourism (Boating, Jet Skiing, etc), Land based Tourism (Trekking, Rock Climbing, etc) and Cruise Tourism.       

  • Eco Experiences : In view of the growing interest in wildlife and eco-tourism, new sites are being promoted. A scheme for developing Guest Houses of Water Resources Department/ PWD/Forest, etc. at scenic locations as ecotourism destinations will be introduced.     

                     

  • Hotels & Resorts : Special incentives are being provided for the establishment of Hotel Industries in Rajasthan.                            
  • Rural Experiences : An incentive scheme is being developed for promotion of tourism within the rural areas for tourism projects such as home stays, caravan parks, eco parks etc.     

  • Camping Sites : Hundreds of pristine and unexplored destinations in the state offer excellent opportunity for the development of accommodation facility in the form of luxury tents.

  • Wellness Tourism : Holistic Therapy Centres which provide physiotherapy, ayurveda, naturopathy, yoga and herbal treatment are being included in definition of Tourism Units and being promoted by the state.
