Recently, Mumbai Government has registered an FIR against Kangan Ranaut for her Khalistani comments on the farmers. What exactly happened in the country that provoked Kangana Ranaut to make such statement?

Narendra Modi passed three bills a few months ago to protect the interests of the farmers around the country. The main objective of the farm laws was to empower the farmers especially the small farmers so that could achieve a better revenue. Modi stated that he has seen the rural community for a long time, bearing the burden of society. So, when he was finally appointed in the position of Prime Minister, he wanted to do something for his country and its people. He passed three laws for the welfare of the farmers.

The first law was titled the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation Act). The acts allow the farmers to sell their commodities to any market committees outside their agriculture circle. The second party to whom the products will be sold has to own a required license that will allow them to purchase the goods sold by the farmer. RThe both parties can mutually agree on the same price and the farmers will moreover share the benefit of being freed from the mandi tax. The tax is supposed to be imposed by the state governments.

The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price assurance and Farm Services Act permits the farmer to perform contract farming and they are allowed to sell their market produce freely.

The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act is an amendment to the previously existing Essential commodities Act. The Act allows the items such as food grains, pulses, oil, and other essential items to be traded without any taxes. The act would be released when there are exceptions such as crisis.

The main intention of the Government to release these laws was just to link the local Agricultural markets with the globalized markets. This would open up closed doors for farmers as they would be able to earn more from their produce.

But, the farmers were not convinced by the laws that were passed by the government. Their main issue was the MSP allowance. The farmers thought that the Fram laws will make their MSP system irrelevant. The government under the guidance of Narendra Modi and the Shanta Kumar Committee set up by him stated that the MSP system only benefited the 6% of the farmers. And, the main point is that the 6% involves the farmers hailing from Punjab and Haryana region.

As a result, the farm laws were not received well by the farmers belonging from that region as anticipated. They felt that the MSP system would be in ruins and demanded that MSP should be made compulsory for both APMC and private mandis.

The government was reluctant to meet the demands because the MSP system was politically insensitive and financially unviable for the government. This has created a mass protest around the country.

Finally, on the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that the Farm Laws that were initiated by their government on 26 November 2020 will be repelled. He also requested the aggravated, protesting farmers to return back to their homes.

The main intention of the party in power to repel the three laws was based on the fact that they would head in the states of Punjab and Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming election. The respective states are to cast their votes early in the next year.

Many people have shared their opinions regarding the repulsion of the three laws. Many people condemned his action as he chose politics against the farmers’ betterment.

And during the hard time, when the Modi Government was receiving such harsh criticisms, Kangana Ranaut could not keep quiet.

Kangana Ranaut is an ardent follower of the Modi Government.

What was Kangana Ranaut’s response that made Mumbai Police register an FIR against her?

While the BJP Government was in shambles, Kangana Ranaut took to her Instagram account and posted that Khalistanis were “arm twisting” the government, and they were crushed like mosquitoes by the former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi.

Kangana Ranaut has condemned all the farmers in the nation who were protesting against the farm laws by calling them, Khalistani terrorists. She also brought in the topic of the riot that was held in the year 1984 that has hurt the sentiments of the community. Thus, an FIR was filed against her.

The complainants have come across the post shared by Kangana on her respective social media handle. The people have not remained silent this time.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa

Among them was Akali Dal leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa who is the president of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee. He led a meeting with the Home Minister of Mumbai, Dilip Walse Patil, and asked that the case should be officially registered as an FIR as the actor intentionally and deliberately tried to hurt the sentiments of the protesters by labeling them as Khalisthanis. Moreover, she also remarked on the Farmers’ Protest as the Khalistani movement.

Response to Kangana Ranaut’s comment:

The Mumbai Police has not kept calm and has finally registered an FIR against Kangana Ranaut for her comments labeling the farmers as Khalistanis on her Instagram post regarding the announcements made by the ruling government in the wake of the repelling of the farm laws.

The Khar Police has registered the offense committed by her under section 295A IPC relating to the angering of the religious feelings based on a complaint filed by Amarjit Singh Sandhu, 47, Kulwant Singh Sandhu, along with the other leaders of the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee.

It is high time for Kangana Ranaut that her posts without any thinking could bring big repercussions to the inhabitants of the country. Condemning people in order to regard the favorable party in power is not something someone would assume for a big personality. Moreover, she has come out as an inspiration to millions of people around the world after she called out the nepotism in Bollywood after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. And all the good deeds she has accumulated for her life have disappeared because of her thoughtless statements.

Do let us know what do you feel about Kangana Ranaut’s statements on the farmers’ protest.
