8 arrested and two booked after Gen Rawat’s death

Remember a few days ago, a controversy gained popularity, and that controversy was about when a comedian named Vir Das said that he belongs to two India and this was created such a big issue and even people on the internet and others who portray themselves as the nation lover and say about their loyalty towards nation threatened him.

But, if we think technically what wrong did he say, we are living in a society where people can say, and post wrong about the honourable CDS officer Late Bipin Rawat, who served the nation till his last breath, anything can happen in that society.

Recently after the death of Gen Bipin Rawat, some cases have been reported from various areas like Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and Gujrat

The man who was considered as the backbone of defense in the nation, people have been posting about him after his death. This is what your loyalty gives you or for some days like always, people will portray you to be a nation lover and all.

Deep inside everyone knows what they are. Around eight people have been arrested, one is suspended from a government job, and two others are booked from different places regarding the death of General Bipin Rawat, his wife, and the other officers who died in the helicopter crash. 

As per the sources, the most number of arrest has been made in Rajasthan, one on the same day of the crash and two others on December 11. On Saturday that is on December 11, Pratapgarh Police arrested two people, Jeevan Lal Ninama and Manish Kumar Meena after they posted some offensive content about the crash on Facebook.

Before that in Tonk district, Rajasthan police arrested a man named Jawaad Khan who posted about Gen Bipin Rawat inappropriately on Instagram on the day of the crash, he was booked under section 505 and was sent under custody, and FIR was also launched against him stating that he tried to promote enmity between the communities. 

In Gujrat, two people were arrested on December 9 and one other on December 10, and one of them was the son of a retired police sub-inspector. Feroz Diwan was charged based on inappropriate comments about the crash on Facebook but later got bailed out on December 11 after he deleted the post.

Feroz Diwan has been imposed under the sections of Indian Penal Code, 153 which is about giving provocation to cause a riot, 153 (B) which is imputation prejudicial to national integration, 504 that is an intentional insult to provoke breach of peace, and 505 (1B) that is intended to incite and create fear among the public and 84 (C) that is information technology at. 

As per the reports, Feroz Diwan deleted the post later but took a screenshot of the post, and police have seized the phone.

On December 9, in Gujrat, police arrested another man Shiva Bhai Ahir for posting improper regarding the crash, and he has been booked under several charges like 153 A, 295 A, and 5050 (1).

Police were alerted by the Twitter users as they tagged Gujrat Minister of State Harsh Sanghavi, and the late cyber wing arrested Shiva Ahir. As per the police, he used his Facebook handle and posted controversial statements in the past to create a rift between the different communities. 

In the Khandwa district in Madhya Pradesh, a youth leader of a tribal group, Durgesh Vaskale, was arrested based on his comments on Facebook on Saturday. It has been reported that Durgesh Vaskale has been seen posting offensive comments regularly, he is the leader of the tribal group Jai Adivasi Yuva Shakti. 

Durgesh Vasakle was arrested on the complaint of Neelesh Dangote and Ajay More under section 297 that is trespassing to wound religious feelings, 153 A and 153 B of Indian Penal Code.

Meanwhile, Narendra Saluja, congress spokesperson has asked that why Inder Patel, district head of BJP IT Cell has not been arrested after he commented ‘True’ on the post of Durgesh Vaskale. 

A man from Madras was also booked under sections 153, 504, and 505 (2) of IPC. While arresting the accused, police had to face protest from the BJP workers, and the state president of BJP said that this arrest violates the freedom of expression of any citizen.

Another case was reported in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, a man named Shafi forwarded a Facebook post that originated from Pakistan and stated some derogatory comments against Late General Bipin Rawat.

On December 10, a woman bank worker was fired from her job as she reacted with a laughing emoji on the post of chopper crash and the suspension letter stated that it is defamatory, and not in consonance with conduct rules governing the service of the employee.
