Top 11 Worst Bollywood Movies to not watch in 2022

The year 2021 did not only see the fall in the country’s GDP and economy, but it also visualized the tremendous decline in the choice of movies the Bollywood makers brought in for us.

As much as an avid fan is concerned, Bollywood is deteriorating in the plots of films and the actor it is casting to feature the roles.

Bollywood movies nowadays are pathetic. It showcases the same idea lovers meet, heroes in over the villains, and whatnot. Copying from Hollywood would not make it a blockbuster in Bollywood if the right cast is not chosen.

While some gems should not be condemned, like Shershah or Bell Bottom, some of the movies should be criticized heavily so that the directors stop making movies taking these flops as an example.

Bollywood

2021 has been pretty hard on us, and as we have stepped into 2022, it seems harder. In the brutal moments when we are captivated in our homes and looking for movies or shows to binge-watch, these movies should be avoided at any cost.

Time is precious. So, let us move forward with the movies that are not worth wasting two hours on.

Top 11 Worst Bollywood Movies to not watch in 2022

  1. Bunty and Babli 2:

Why is it so necessary for Bollywood to make a sequel to a film when it has done well in the past? Why is it necessary to squeeze out the essence of a golden movie?
We do not have any idea of the whys but we have an idea of why you should not watch a movie?

With an IMDb rating of 3.9 out of 10, Bunty and Babli 2 was released on the OTT platform Amazon Prime on 19 November 2021.

The sequel opens after a time gap of sixteen years when Rakesh Trivedi (Saif Ali Khan) and Vimmi Saluja (Rani Mukherji) retired from the con artist business.

A businessman named Chaddha was conned by the two con men Kunal Singh played by Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sonia Rawat, played by Sharvari Waghwho takes the pen name of Bunty and Babli, after hearing the stories of the former couple.

Pretty soon, Rakesh and Vimmi are held up by the police because of the mess created by Kunal and Sonia. The fiasco results in the war between the two con couples.

The movie was not well-received by the audience.

It received 18% by Rotten Tomatoes and 4.95/10. Many critics have claimed that the film did well because of the saving grace of the iconic Rani Mukherjee.

Others claimed that the movie has a very repetitive plot and forgettable dialogues. The sequel was in no way close to the first part.

The Bollywood movie accumulated a total of 22.12 crore INR worldwide.

2. Hungama 2:

Priyadarshan used to direct movies that genuinely stood for the comical genre. From movies like Dhol to De Dhana Dhan, his films have left a mark on the Bollywood box office. But Hungama 2 did not standoff. It has received an IMDb rating of 3.1/ 10 which is low for a Priyadarshan movie.

The movie revolves around Aakash, the protagonist played by Meezan Jafri) who is ready to marry his father’s friend’s daughter. As the days of the wedding approaches, a girl named Vaani lands on his doorstep and claims that the kid is Aakash which leads to confusion.

Kapoor, who is the father of Aakash tries to reach the root cause of the chaos and appoints Anjali (Shilpa Shetty) who is his daughter. But, Anjali’s husband overhears their conversation and thinks that Aakash and Anjali are having an affair.

Thus, the stew.

The film did not do well because the movie’s plot strictly inclines to the Priyadarshan movie.

In modern times, when there are so many comedy genres, the movie seems not to make an impact on the audience.
It is also believed that the movie lost 15% ownership after the Shilpa Shetty Kundrra case took place.

3. Haseen Dilruba:

As much as one wants to watch a Bollywood movie with Vikrant Massey and Harshvardhan Rane as the cast, the film is contrary to that. The movie is wrong is so many levels. It normalizes cheating, hurting, and even killing someone just for the sake of love.

In a country where most teenagers draw their inspiration from movies, is it fair for the makers to give a wrong message?

The movie has gained an IMDb rating of 6.8/10 and was released from the OTT platform Netflix on 2 July 2021.

The movie is taken from Roald Dahl’s famous short story, Lamb to the slaughter.
Rani is suspected of killing her husband, and the scene opens with Rani (Tapsee Pannu) feeding raw meat to the stray dogs.

Rani narrates the story of her husband’s murder while the police are investigating to solve the case.

In the end, it turned out that her husband was alive all the time, and the couple has conspired to kill Rani’s lover.

The movie glorifies domestic violence, which is not okay. It has symbolized domestic violence as a form of love. However, the cast did full justice to their roles, and the plot was well written despite the movie’s flaws.

4. Bhoot Police:

Bhoot Police is a comedy horror Bollywood movie starring Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Yami Gautam, and Jacqueline Fernandez.

The story revolves around two brothers, Vibhooti and Chiraunji who run an exorcist business. They were popular as Ullat Baba, and they believed nothing about ghosts and strictly adhered to the fact that these were only superstitions of the people.

The movie centers around the conquest of the two brothers to hunt and eradicate ghosts from the remote village.

The movie is directed by Pawan Kripalani and was released on Hotstar on 10 September 2021.

When the writers have moved the bar by making comedy horror movies like Stree, one expects the other films to match up, not just a childish awful horror movie.

5. Radhe:

There was a time when Salman Khan was famous for his brilliant acting skills in Bollywood. He is just known for his awful acting skills and autotuned songs.

The movie has received the lowest rating of 1.8/10 in IMDb despite having two prominent actors starring in the movie.

Can we accept that Salman Khan movie plots are monotonous in which the same story is being recycled for the nth number of times?

ACP Rajveer Shikhavat, known by the pseudonym Radhe, is an encounter specialist who finds the wealthiest man of the town, Gani Bhai, who secretly runs a crime syndicate.

The plot is similar to KIck, Dabbang, and other Salman Khan movies. The movie accumulated 18 crores INR in the box office collection.

The performance of the villain Sangay Tsheltrim was appreciated and well-received by the fans. One of the criticisms even stated that it was one of the challenging parts of the movie.

Given that a movie features Salman Khan, the OG of Bollywood, people expect a lot more than an IMDb rating of 1.8.

6. Sooryavanshi:

Singham, Singham 2, and Simmba were relevant Bollywood movies directed by Rohit Shetty. But, Sooryavanshi did not feel the same. Thus, it has received an IMDB rating of 6.3/10. The story revolves around a Mumbai cop who intends to stop the conspiracy his city has faced. The movie was released on 5 November 2021.

Akshay Kumar’s performance was splendid. But, Katrina Kaif’s acting could not cope with his outstanding performance.

The movie is a one-time watch. And, it feels to be an exaggerated sequel of Singham. The former sequels were good on their part. But, the continuation seems to be a bit overstretched.

7. Roohi:

Roohi is believed to be the sequel of stree, has the same niche as the former Bollywood movie.

The movie was the most anticipated after the pandemic as it featured Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma. They are versatile actors of Bollywood known for their fitting roles in the comedy genre.

Despite having Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma, the movie could not do well in the box office as it made a collection of 30 crore INR with a budget of Rs 20 crore. In addition, it has received an IMDb rating of 4.3/10.

Bhawra (Rajkummar Rao) and Kattanni (Varun Sharma) kidnap Roohi (Janhvi Kapoor) on the orders of Guniya Bhai, who wanted to marry her off to her client. However, things start to turn eerie when Bhawra kidnaps Roohi who is believed to be possessed by the ghost.

Even though the movie did not do well, it has passed on a beautiful message to the audience. The film has sensitively dealt with the inter-caste marriages between Hindu and Muslim communities and LGBTQ marriages.

Roohi and Stree were produced by the same production house- Maddock Films. However, it has failed to make an impact.

The lack of viewership could also be attributed to the fact that this was the first movie that came out after the pandemic, and people were in a dilemma regarding the situation.

Nevertheless, Roohi made it to the worst Bollywood movie of 2021 that one should not watch in 2022.

8. 14 Fere:

The movie has received an IMDb rating of 6.4/10 and was released on the OTT platform Zee 5. The movie is directed by Devanshu Kumar.

The plot may intrigue the spectrum of watchers who would prefer family sagas and dramas over mystery.

College sweetheart Aditi Karwasra played by Kriti Kharbanda, and Sanjay Lal Singh, played by Vikrant Massey, have a happily perfect love story. They plan to get married, but they face difficulties as they both hail from different orthodox families. A
As a result, they conspire with their friends to get married.

But, the situation worsens as the couple gets entangled in their lies.
The movie runs on the shoulders of Vikrant Massey, who tries to keep the film going.
But the movie turns out to be another cliche love story Bollywood has to offer.

Better writing and better portrayal by the actors could have increased the film’s engagement.

9. Ajeeb Daastaans:

The movie is an aggregation of four short stories following the sequel of Lust Stories and Ghost Stories. The four plots are written by different writers and are produced by Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta. The movie was released on Netflix on 16 April 2021 and has gained a significant IMDb rating of 6.7.

The movie centers around four protagonists whose emotions are inflamed by catalysts trapped under damaged relationships.

It is a preconceived notion that Karan Johar’s Netflix movies are disastrous. Karan Johar’s shorts are usually believed to be the sore finger in the anthology of the film. But, in this case, the movie seemed to be inconsistent because of Shashank Khaitan’s part.
As a result, the movie did not do well as was expected. But, it is a watchable movie at the very least.

10. Hello Charlie:

Hello, Charlie is another disgrace to the name of Bollywood and thus makes up the list of Top worst movies of Bollywood that is not a watch for 2022.
The movie was released on April 9, 2021.

Like Sooraj Pancholi’s acting career, the movie also passed like another wave.
The story talks about Chirag Rastogi, aka Charlie, who comes to Mumbai for a reason and gets stuck in turmoil as Jackie Shroff, who plays the role of con businessman, tries to fraud him.

The movie also features Girishkulkarni, Shloka Pandit, Rajpal Yadav, Elnaaz Norouzi, and many others.

Comedy is a complicated genre. And, the film has indeed proved the fact by its failed comedy. Despite Aadar’s strenous efforts to make the movie going, it did not give fruitful results.

You can skip this movie without a second thought.

11. The Big Bull:

Another notion of Bollywood is that Abhishek Bachchan is an overrated actor. But, my opinion differs completely. Abhishek Bachchan is one of the underrated actors whose performance has not been much regarded by the audience. But, he is 100 times better than the actors of millennial times.

The movie has received an IMDb rating of 6.2 and was released on Hotstar.

The story depicts one of the biggest scams in the history of India. It tells the real-life story of Hemant Shah- who is a small-time stockholder who ends up creating a fortune for himself in the stock exchange.

Critics believed that Abhishek’s performance was good but nothing extraordinary. It lacked depth and detail. Also, the chemistry with his co-actor seemed to be forced.

As a result, the movie made it to the top 10 worst movies in 2021 to watch 2022.

Wrap Up:

The choices of the audience are evolving at such a tremendous rate that the Bollywood, old, cliche movies do not seem to work for us and meet our expectations. We expect heartfelt plots that depict beauty in motion. Bollywood movies like Masaan that has captured every emotion of the movie and delivered it to the hearts of the spectators. The movie industry deserves a film that is more than just another random Bollywood movie.
