Richa Chadha Talks About The ‘Cancel-Culture’

For the last four years, we have seen Bollywood actress Richa Chadha involved in different and diverse projects, and every time she surprises everyone with a unique character.

Richa Chadha is one of the actors who found a foothold in the digital world when the OTTs were not so popular and just gaining ground in India. Moving in a different always has many risks, but more than that, what comes is the unwanted suggestions and the demotivating warnings.

The same happened with the actor when she placed her foot in the digital medium; many people indirectly said that it was a demotion for her, as who would choose to go in the digital platform after acting in the movies. But no one knows the future; the OTT platforms are now in trend, with most people having access to one, if not more, OTT platform.

Richa Chadha

Richa Chadha joined the OTT industry in 2017 and collaborated with Amazon Prime, and she believes that in a web series, the character you play grows with you, making it more interesting.

Recently, Richa Chadha was seen in the character of a cop named Ratna Sankhwar in the web show Candy, streaming on Voot Select. The show revolves around the murder mystery of a high-school student, which forces a teacher and a crooked cop to bury their differences and hunt down the killer. We have also seen the actor in movies Masaan, Love Sonia, Sarbjit, and many more. One thing that crosses the bar of excellence is her acting skills; she lives the roles.

Richa Chadha turns producer

Richa Chadha has always been at the recieving end of mixed feedback. She got negative reviews for the movie Masaan but got positive reviews from the movie she never expected. The actor says that sometimes the reviews are so bad that you will think to quit the career and on the other hand the positive reviews will make you think of yourself as Meryl Streep.

She added that many of the reviewers don’t even have film appreciation training, and sometimes they go down to attack personally and write destructive things, which do not even make sense. Above all, they will declare you finished (the recent trend of “cancel culture”) and then write an article about how nepotism is taking place in the industry over real talent.
