A star that left his mark in the Indian Film industry for the upcoming generation and is an inspiration to many other emerging actors. Mohammed Yusuf Khan but, you can identify him with his stage name Dilip Kumar or also as the tragedy kind and the first khan of Bollywood.

Dilip Kumar left the world on July 7, 2021, and if he was here he would have celebrated his 99th birthday this year. The actor came, lived, survived, earned, and left the world with peace and his marks behind him. Dilip Kumar also holds the record for winning most Filmfare awards for best actor.

During his journey, he shared a very close bond with the actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Naseeruddin Shah, Raj Kapoor, Dharmendra, Dev Anand, and Vyjayanthimala.

The three actors, Dev Anand, Dilip Kumar, and Raj Kapoor, were called the Legendary trio, and with this title, they ruled the entire Hindi cinema for decades and gave a new shape to the film industry. 

As both Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor were born and brought up in Peshawar, they were friends since their school times, they were even school mates and their families used to be neighbors in Peshawar, and that Havelis are now turned into museums.

After Dilip Kumar’s demise, actress Vyjayanthimala spoke about her experience, while working with the late actor. Both the actors Dilip Kumar and Vyjayanthimala worked together in movies like Naya Daur, Madhumati, and Ganga Jamuna. The actress added that he was a great actor and he will always remain alive in our hearts. Dilip Kumar always used to encourage her and worked very comfortably and peacefully. 

Vyjayanthimala said that she has always learned something new from him and his acting skills, and both the actors worked in eight movies together, and all of those were successful. Dilip Saab was a very kind man, and he earned great respect from everyone. 

She also added that he was a very down-to-earth person, he used to talk to everyone in a very friendly manner, and he had a very good command of Urdu and spoke so elegantly. Vyjayanthimala and Saira Banu, wife of Dilip Kumar also, share a good bond and often refer to each other as sisters.

Dilip Kumar also shared a very good bond with Naseeruddin Shah. Actor Naseeruddin Shah was also admitted to the same hospital where Dilip Saab took his last breath, and the veteran actor died on the same day on which Naseeruddin got discharged which is on June 7.

While Naseeruddin was in the hospital, he told, that Saira Banu visit him and told, that Dilip Saab has been asking about him, and she also blessed him, and Naseeruddin was deeply moved by her words and kindness. He also wanted to meet Dilip Kumar but, he left the world on the same day Naseeruddin got discharged. 

In his early days in the film industry, Naseeruddin has spent some time at Dilip Kumar’s home. Naseeruddin shared relation with Dilip Saab through his father’s elder sister, and in the early days, Dilip Kumar suggested Naseeruddin go back and focus on studies as people belonging from good families should not try to come in this profession. 

Naseeruddin Shah recalled the time while he was working with Dilip Kumar in Karma which was directed by Subhash Ghai. He shared that he was nervous for the first time while acting, and he was too scared to approach Dilip Saab even for greetings.

Dilip Kumar has also worked with Dharmendra in a Bengali movie named Paari and the Hindi remake of the same movie. Dharmendra told that the most priceless gift he ever got was the sweater that was given by Dilip Kumar himself in the early 60s.

Even when Amitabh Bachchan and Dilip Kumar were working for the movie Shakti together, Dilip Saab shouted at the crew as Amitabh Bachchan was not able to rehearse due to the noise, Amitabh Bachchan told that, during the shooting, he was trying to rehearse for a scene but, there was a lot of disturbance and for the Dilip Saab shouted at the crew and asked them to maintain silence and it was very astonishing to see that a legendary cares so much about his co-actors and give them the importance. 

Even after the demise of Dilip Kumar, the great comedian actor Johnny Lever shared his experience of how he shared some of the beautiful and memorable moments with the legendary actor and even we Johnny Lever visited his place, he served him Biryani with his own hands and also he performed a mimicry act for Johnny Lever while they were on a tour.

Dilip Kumar is recognized as one of the best actor Indian Film Industry ever had and, fortunately, the man of the actors got to work with him. The actor also considered Shah Rukh Khan as his child and always told him that if he ever had any kid, he would look at him only, and even Shah Rukh Khan treated him as his father and respected him a lot. 

Dilip Kumar made his debut in the year 1944 with the movie Jwar Bhata, and in the year 1947, he gave his first box office hit with the movie Jugnu.

The actor has worked in many movies like more than 65 films and that too of different varieties. He also worked in the record-setting movie Mughal-e-Azam and still, that movie remains the highest grossing film in India.
