Ponniyin Selvan To Hit The Screens In 2022

Mani Ratnam’s upcoming movie Ponniyin Selvan has completed its shooting.

It is all set to hit the theatres in summer 2022 as confirmed as the actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan shared the poster of the movie Ponniyin Selvan on her Instagram handle.

After some ease was provided after the lockdown, the actor started shooting for the movie. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan also made sure that she took both the Covid vaccine doses, and she also takes Covid -19 test after a particular time as a precautionary measure. 400 crew members accompanied her in the film and they were also fully vaccinated. The safety measures were perfectly taken care of. The team shot on various locations like started from Puducherry, then next moving to Hyderabad. In the latest, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan shot a sequel location in Madhya Pradesh. 

The movie Ponniyin Selvan is based on the novel based on the same name written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. The movie starts with a glimpse of the Chola Dynasty. The fictional novel is being adapted by Mani Ratnam and writer B. Jeyamohan by his side with his blockbuster dialogues to make this movie a hit.

The movie Ponniyin Selvan is the fourth collaboration of the actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and the director Mani Ratnam.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be seen in a double role in the movie. The actor will play the role of princess Nandini and also the princess’s mother, Mandakini Devi. The actor recently wrapped up for the upcoming film, and the movie is scheduled to release in 2022 by the summer.

During the shooting, the actor’s husband Abhishek Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya Bachchan visited the set, and later three of them visited the R Sarathkumar’s family. Varalaxmi, Sarathkumar’s daughter, penned a note thanking three of them for their sweet gesture.
