Supreme Court Has Heard The Plea Of cancellation Of Class 10 And 12 Examination

A petition requesting a deferment or alternative assessment of the 2022 board examination is expected to be heard by the Supreme Court on Monday, February 21. An appeal has been filed with the top court by students seeking intervention against the upcoming state and national board exams. Several state boards, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), and the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), will administer the exams.

Class 10 and 12 students from over 15 states submitted a petition seeking an alternative assessment method for the upcoming board exams. CBSE, CISCE, and other state boards decided to evaluate students using alternative assessment criteria, with students evaluating themselves through internal exams and a formula devised by the respective boards.

Exam dates for the class 10 and 12 terms 2 exams have been announced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). These exams will be held beginning on April 26. Additionally, the ICSE Class 10 exam and ISC Class 12 exam are scheduled to be administered by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) in the last week of April. CISCE is a statement announced that the detailed timetable would be released shortly

Exams for Class 10 and Class 12 will be conducted online by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) beginning on April 26. The board conducted term-1 exams during November and December of 2021 and the results have yet to be reported.

Sanyam Bhardwaj, the CBSE exam controller, said that the board, after speaking to various stakeholders and taking into consideration the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country, has decided to hold term two examinations offline.

In term-2 exams, students will have to answer both objective and subjective questions. Students in term-1 only answered questions that were either objective or multiple choice.

To conduct the exam, the board will follow a pattern of sample question papers. Examples of question papers were published on the CBSE academic website last month.

It explained that the detailed schedule will be available on CBSE.nic.in soon.

As a result, the central education board is conducting Class 10 and Class 12 final exams over two terms for the first time. As a consequence of the current COVID situation in the country, this has been done.

Due to technical difficulties, the board was unable to conduct exams during the second wave of Covid and had to come up with an alternative assessment process.

Student directors recently warned them to stay away from fake notices regarding the term 1 results as well as false information about the term 2 exams. A CBSE notification for the term-2 exam reiterated that any exam-related information on social media should only be taken into account once it has been verified on the official CBSE website.

In its February 21 hearing, the Supreme Court will hear arguments requesting the cancellation of CBSE Term 2 Exams for classes 10th and 12. By applying to the apex court, the group of students and their parents are seeking the cancellation of the CBSE Term 2 Exams 2022 and other board exams. Anubha Shrivastava Sahai, a child rights activist and the Students Union of Odisha were the parties who filed the complaint. A different assessment method should be implemented this year and improvement exams should be available.

CBSE Term 2 Exam 2022 for Class 10 and Class 12 students has been challenged in the Uttar Pradesh High Court. The exam is scheduled to be conducted in offline mode on April 26. There is a petition asking for the Supreme Court’s directive to cancel the examination. The petition filed before the Supreme Court has received widespread support from student communities throughout the country, according to media reports. Students from as many as 15 states have filed a writ petition in which they are demanding alternative assessment methods for the upcoming CBSE Term 2 examinations, as well as the ICSE and ISC Semester 2 examinations.

Here are some of the demands from students

1) Students have ordered the cancellation of board exams for all three central boards, i.e. CBSE, CISCE and NIOS, and several other state boards as well.

(2) The petition filed by the students claims that conducting board exams during the Covid-19 pandemic constitutes violating their Right to Life.

3) Students are also demanding an alternative assessment method for the board exams this year instead of the regular offline test due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

4) As online classes have been going on for a long time now, one of the key reasons students are telling their professors they want exams cancelled is because they don’t feel prepared to take exams in offline mode. The online classes have also reportedly caused some students to claim that their syllabus has not been completed.

The board exam season is approaching, which is why the 2022 board exams are so hot on social media. Exams of State Boards, the Central Board of Secondary Education, and the Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE, become all the more important with constant calls for cancellation and #InternalAssessmentForAll. Following the filing of a plea in the Supreme Court, students are now more interested in the question, “What do students want?” Are the majority of students in favour of internal assessments, or are they only interested in online testing? What are their thoughts on the cancellation of the Board Exams? Cancelled or postponed?

As the date sheets for Board Exams 2022 have been released for many exams, students have taken to social media to call for their demands to be met. In an attempt to get their prayers answered, they have also filed a case with the Supreme Court challenging the decision of CBSE, CISCE, State Boards, and NIOS to hold offline exams. Based on the latest update, this hearing is expected to take place on February 21, 2022.

The 2022 board exams are expected to be a big and important event as many boards have chosen a term-wise examination system. The fact that the COVID-19 pandemic situation is slowly clearing up and that most educational institutions have reopened in many places also means that offline exams are being held for the most part.

The fate of Board Exams in 2022 is up for debate, what should it be? To cancel or to conduct online assessments? How do students feel about it? Polls on Social Media

Twitter campaigns by students and stakeholders continue, however, all eyes are now focused on the Supreme Court Hearing. There are several alternatives to offline exams, such as calculating results based on Internal Assessment Marks (which does not require board exams to be cancelled), postponing exams or holding them online.

In parallel, many state boards have stated that students should have complete vaccinations before taking the Board Exams 2022. There can be no way to predict the result of the Supreme Court hearing until the day of the hearing. It is recommended that students continue preparing for the hearing.
