Sitabuldi Fort is a renowned tourist destination in Nagpur that also has historical significance. Sitabuldi Fort, built on two hilltops, has witnessed intense conflicts and atrocities. Appa Sahib’s men stormed the fort erected by a British commander during the conflict. The conflict ended when the British defeated Appa Sahib’s troops. Following the battle, the construction was transformed into a powerful fort by the British.

Nawab Kadar Ali, Tipu Sultan’s grandson, was executed here along with eight associates for opposing the British. The fort’s feature is a cell where Mahatma Gandhi was confined. It also features a military memorial honoring the troops who died in the fight. When in Nagpur, you should go to the monument.
