The incident took place around 8:30 p.m. on Monday, when Kumar, who resides in Sector 92, stopped at a liquor shop in Sector 89 on his way home from his office in South Delhi. After parking his Maruti Brezza by the roadside near the shop entrance, Kumar entered the store briefly but returned to his vehicle without making any purchases.

According to the police, as Kumar approached his car door and reached into his pocket for the keys, he noticed two individuals standing near his SUV. One of them was holding a helmet in his hand. Initially, Kumar paid little attention to them and focused on opening his car door. However, in a sudden turn of events, one of the suspects struck him forcefully on the head with the helmet, leaving Kumar completely stunned and disoriented.

The assailants took advantage of Kumar’s vulnerable state and proceeded to assault him while attempting to snatch the keys from his possession. Despite their relentless efforts, they were unable to seize the keys. Realising their failure, one of the suspects drew a pistol and aimed it at Kumar’s head, coercing him to surrender the keys. Fearing for his life, Kumar complied, and the two suspects fled the scene with his SUV, heading towards the Dwarka Motorway.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety and security of individuals in Gurugram, highlighting the need for increased vigilance and preventive measures. The Gurugram police have launched a thorough investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators responsible for this heinous crime. The charges filed against the suspects include Section 34 (common intention), Section 323 (voluntarily causing harm), and Section 392 (robbery) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
