Apple has launched its self-repair services: Everything you should know before you proceed

 

Apple is a company that brings all the trends to the smartphone world. If you have been following the tech industry, you must be knowing that whatever Apple does, every other brand follows it.
In previous years, Apple started removing the headphone jack, and every brand began to follow the trend.
Afterwards, when they launched their iPhone X, they introduced the notch trend, and all the brands adopted that too.
So Apple is a company that is responsible for all the silly trends going on in this market.
And the limit had crossed when they removed the charger from the box in iPhone 12. The reason they gave is that they were saving the environment by reducing their carbon footprint.

And this trend has started with others too and they have also removed the charger from their box.

But the dirty thing Apple was doing was making its phones hard to repair for independent shops.

 

Why has Apple got so much criticism?

 

As Apple has given the reason for removing its environment-friendly charger, why are they forcing people to change phones every year by making its repair harder than ever?

When the back glass of your iPhone breaks you have to pay half the price of your phone just to repair the back glass. And when your front glass breaks that will cost similar to the back glass maybe a little less. If you decide to fix it from your local service provider, your iPhone will lock, and your face id will not work.

Apple has restricted the third-party components to work with your iPhone. If you are not using genuine parts from Apple, then there are chances that your iPhone may not work.
So there are two options: you pay the price or buy a new phone, so most of them will decide to use that money to buy a new phone.

This question also arises. Will this not affect the environment by increasing the e-waste? But this will not be visible to Apple because they want to profit, so the environment is not a concern.

This has given very much criticism to Apple for this behaviour and has also taken so much lawsuit for the removal of the charger.

 

Apple has launched its new self-repair service

 

Apple has a good service, there is no doubt, and their services are quick and fast. But the main problem that arises is the price which you have to pay for the service.

But there is no option to go to third-party repairs due to restrictions in components.
But now, due to lots of criticism, Apple has launched its self-repair service where users who are confident enough to repair their phones can take the genuine parts from the company and improve their devices by themselves.

 

This initiative can give relaxation to the price which was earlier. And they have said this will come to the iPhone 12 and 13 now, and later they will offer it for the MacBooks with M1 chips.

And Apple will also help the third-party service providers to help with the service the users want. It will also provide the equipment needed to fix the devices. This will be a great move towards a healthy environment, and other companies will also follow this trend because it has been done for many years.

But to keep in mind that all the parts were not included until now, there are limitations now. But gradually, the availability of parts will increase, making more affordable repairs possible for the users. IPhone 12 and 13 and MacBooks featuring m1 chips and some iPads are included in this list.
