Man killed in Gurugram after getting hit by a speeding bike.
In a heartbreaking incident in the Farrukhnagar area of Gurugram, a 24-year-old man lost his life and his cousin was left in critical condition after their motorcycle was struck by another bike coming from the wrong side.
The accident occurred on Sunday morning at around 10:15 a.m. when the victims, identified as Biru (24) and Chotu (23), were returning to Munda Khera in Jhajjar after visiting a doctor in Farrukhnagar.
According to the police, the accident was caused by a speeding sports bike, allegedly ridden at a high speed by a 24-year-old suspect named Ankit. The collision was so severe that it flung the two cousins into the air for several feet.
The impact of the crash was immense, with both the Hero Honda Splendour, on which the victims were riding, and the KTM sports bike skidding for more than 200 metres after the collision.
Passers-by who witnessed the horrifying accident immediately alerted the authorities, and Biru was rushed to Farrukhnagar Community Health Centre. However, tragically, the doctors declared him dead upon arrival. Meanwhile, Chotu was taken to the government hospital in Sector 10A, where he is currently undergoing treatment for multiple fractures and remains in critical condition. The KTM rider, Ankit, also suffered injuries and was taken to SGT Hospital in Budhera for medical care.
According to investigators, Chotu was unwell, and Biru had accompanied him to the doctor’s appointment in Farrukhnagar. Eyewitnesses reported that Ankit was recklessly riding the KTM bike at a speed of approximately 100 km or even higher, which made it impossible for him to control the bike and avoid the collision.
As the injured parties received medical attention, the Gurugram police took immediate action and filed an FIR against Ankit at Farrukhnagar police station based on a complaint from Biru’s father, Prem Lal. The FIR charged Ankit under Section 279 (rash driving or riding on public roads), 304A (causing death by negligence), and 337 (causing hurt by an act endangering the life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
A senior police officer revealed that once Ankit recovers from his injuries, appropriate legal action will be taken against him for his alleged role in the tragic accident.
