Businessman Raj Kundra Granted Bail In Pornography Case

On Monday, September 20, businessman Raj Kundra was granted bail by the magistrate court in Mumbai. 

Raj Kundra, husband of actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra, was arrested in July and is accused in the pornography film case. Along with Raj Kundra, one of his employees, Ryan Thorpe, was also arrested and now the bail has been granted to him at the same time. Both the accused were arrested two months ago. Meanwhile, with the bail to Raj Kundra, he has been asked to pay Rs. 50,000 as a surety. 

The businessman was accused of streaming and creating porn videos and was booked under the sections of the Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act. Raj Kundra filled a plea for bail and claimed that no one got any single evidence against him in the supplementary charge sheet which is being filled by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch. The plea claimed that there is no evidence of Raj Kundra being an actively involved member in the creation and streaming of the porn content and the businessman was being made a scapegoat in the case. 

The bail plea filled earlier by the businessman was rejected as the Mumbai Police had already filled the charge sheet. After all this, businessman Raj Kundra said that he was only associated with the company that owns the app Hotshot and Bollyfame and that too only for 10 months.

This case became a highlight as Raj Kundra is a well-known name and also is the husband of famous Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra. The case took speed when the Mumbai Police raided a Bungalow in Madh Island earlier this year. It is being reported that porn videos were being shot at that location. For this case, Mumbai Police formed a special investigation team and many names from the film industries came up resulting in the arrest of various filmmakers, technical staff, and actors. 

After the arrest of Raj Kundra, Shilpa Shetty made into the talks and was centered by the media and citizens. On this, the actor said that her family and she do not deserve the media trial and asked them to respect her right to privacy in hard times.
