The indulging K-drama to watch in Netflix: latest recommendations of 2021

We are already on the verge of bidding adieu to 2021. The year has been a hell of a ride. Entertainment-wise, it provided us with many underrated gems such as Squid Game and sweet home from the K-drama industry.

And now since the holidays are approaching and taking a vacation seems a far-fetched dream because of the rising covid cases; why not binge-watch k-dramas while sitting behind the screen wrapped up like a burrito and sipping on a warm cup of hot chocolate.

K-drama to watch

If you are still confused and are not able to make up your mind, worry not. This article will provide you with the best recommendations for K-dramas in the year 2021. Let’s move forward with the article.

K-drama recommendation for 2021:

  • Vincenzo: Personally, this is my most favorite K-drama. Each and every episode is crafted so beautifully that catches your attention. Also, with the main lead as Soo Joong Ki, you can’t manage to miss any glimpse. If you are someone who loves to watch thriller mysteries, this series should be on your playlist. The story revolves around Habel, a pharmaceutical industry that holds the most power in the Korean market. The company is defended by one of the top law firms of the country: Wusang. The series deals with the cases of corruption while at the same time the members of the apartment owned by Habel fight against it. Soo Jong ki plays the role of Vincenzo, an Italian consigliere who comes out as a messiah for the poor and helpless people who seek refuge under the Jipuragi law firm.

Vincenzo

The K-drama does not show a typical cliche setup and if think k-dramas are cheesy, this should be your top priority. The series does not center around a love triangle and you will love every scene of the series.

The series ends with the prologue where Vincenzo says,” there’s one last thing I would like to say from a villain’s perspective. Evil is prevalent and vehement.”

And at this moment you know, this was important and the K-drama was indeed significant.

  • Law School: The most important thing about Law School is the fact that this series features Kim Bum who has landed himself a significant role after being away from the big screen for a long time. Law School revolves around solving the mystery of a murder. It can not be compared with the American Series “How to get away with murder?” but it is indeed great looking from an Asian level.

The fact that we can not figure out the real culprit until the end of the series is what makes the series make it to the list of best k-dramas recommendations of 2021. The story revolves around a group of friends who join a law school together and everyone has their fair share of grief and struggles.

Law School

Kim Bum plays the role of Han Joon Hwi who looks for the culprit of his uncle’s death. The incident took place in a mock trial class where his uncle who is also a professor and alumni of the law school was murdered and initially the other professor named Yang was interested. Later, the ball shifted to everyone else’s court who had an encounter with the school professor on the same day when the incident took place.

The series depicts some of the important points about the law: the law is equal for everyone and justice shall be served.

The Kdrama is one of the intense and mind-boggling k-dramas of the year 2021. But, if you are looking for something light-hearted, you may skip this series because this series revolves around critical issues: death and corruption. It differs from Vincenzo because the latter deals with the same topic in a more satirical way which is funny and consuming to watch at the same time.

  • Squid Game: This k-drama series should have made it to the top of the list but the fact that almost everyone has watched because of the Instagram reels made it to the third. If you have still not watched it, here is a reminder to give it a shot. The series is well-made. It sounds weird that the script was rejected 12 years ago.

The main deal with the series is that it revolves around all the cast members of the story. Every actor has a story to tell, an agony to share, and suffering to overcome. The fact that there are people around us who take pleasure in someone else’s sufferings is beautifully depicted in the K-drama. The people who were called on to play the game had to put their friendship, intelligence, wit, and more importantly life to release from the sufferings.

If you have already watched the squid game, you can give Sweet Home a try too. The latter series is also set on a dark backdrop and gives an eerie vibe.

  • Hospital Playlist 2: Written by the same writer of the unforgettable series Reply 1988 and a sequel of Hospital Playlist 1, the k-drama series has a lot to offer to the viewers.

The series centers around five doctors who have been best friends when they first started medical school together in the year 1999. Like every other story crafted by the writer Lee-Woo Jung, the story gives equal importance to all of the five friends and their way of living their life. They discover themselves on the path of hospital adventures involving medicines, music, and relationships.

I have not watched the series as of now but since it is the continuation of the Wise Life series that includes Prison Playbook, the series seems to be pretty amazing and moving as well.

  • Hometown Cha Cha Cha: This is the first k-drama series that has made its place in the most-watched show on Netflix ever since it has released. Featuring Shin Minah and Kim Seon Ho, the series reciprocates a light-hearted feeling like the one you feel when you first fall in love.

The story revolves around a nearby seaside village named Gongjin where the peasants live a very ordinary and happening life. Shin Minah who plays the role of Yoo- Hye Jin is a dentist who was previously a Seoulite and later moved on to Gongjin to earn a huge sum of money for herself.

On the other hand, Kim Seon Ho who plays the role of Dusik is the locality of Gongjin who does not have a specific job. He does remote works for the residents and in turn, charges a minimum daily wage of labor. The love story between two complete opposites is fun to watch while the side stories are equally beautiful as well. So, if you are a die-hard fan of rom-com movies or series, this is a must-watch

Apart from that, there were many series that were released in 2021-Start up, The tale of the nine-tailed, So not worth it, True Beauty and opinions may vary likewise. But, the above is my favorite K-drama series from 2021. However, the end of the year will also see some new releases in the world of the Asian series. So, let’s wait until then.

Do share your thoughts about the series I have recommended and let us know if it is a must-watch or pass. We would like to hear back from you.
