Dhamaka Movie Review: Kartik Aaryan 2.0 Delivers Intense Performance

Kartik Aaryan is currently preparing for the release of his upcoming Netflix film, Dhamaka.

The film is set to be released on Friday, November 19. Before the release of the film, Ayushmann Khurrana and his wife Tahira Kashyap briefed fans to watch the movie at a special Dhamaka show. They took their Insta handles and shared updates.

Ram Madhvani is an exciting choice to direct Dmakaka, 2013’s revised Hindi film 2013 The Terror Live due to a talking title. Designed as a reflection of the apathy of the media for the first time, it allows Madhavani to further reduce the gap between non-reality and orchestration, a grey area now known as his signature style of filmmaking.

While Madvani emphasizes that he will not be able to call his modus operandi ‘organic,’ he allows the atmosphere when there is no ‘action’ and ‘cutting,’ and the characters are given ample room to enter into the emotions their characters are experiencing. They were given a free hand to make the operation, the story, the situation their own, instead of being instructed to adhere strictly to the script.

Going to a photo-sharing site, Ayushmann Khurrana dropped a Netflix movie poster and wrote, “Watched # dhamaka last night! Whatta dhamakedaar film and drama!” with a yellow heart and the feeling of praiseworthy hands. Tahira Kashyap also shared her review by writing, “What a lovely, engaging, exciting, brave film!

With the help of Ram Madhvani, the film follows the journey of a journalist, Arjun Pathak, whose life is turned upside down after terrorists call him a bomb threat. The anchor then attempts to stop a series of deadly incidents, following the chaos and panic. Arjun assumes his responsibility while dealing with a personal problem; his wife’s life is in danger. Based on the 2013 South Korean film Terror Live, the film will see the release of OTT on November 19 via Netflix. Along with Kartik, the film also features Mrunal Thakur, Amruta Subhash, Vikas Kumar, and Vishwajeet Pradhan in the leading roles.

Kartik Aaryan shares intriguing poster of 'Dhamaka'; trailer to be out on October 19

The actor recently released a snapshot of the life of his on-screen actor and his wife, Soumya, played by Mr Thakur, for his favourite song, which has recently hit the internet. In the video he uploaded, he appears to be sharing some romantic moments with his on-screen wife, Soumya, who is also in the same professional role. The trailer showed fans that Arjun Pathak would have to save the city of Mumbai and its inhabitants when his wife’s life was in danger.

While introducing Kartik character, Arjun Pathak introduced one book in Hindi, who goes like, “You must be wondering who is this man is on televison wearing a suit. Such a good job! Experts from NCR News always control, always the highlight. He must have a huge number of fans.

Kartik Aaryan's Dhamaka is to be release on Netflix on November 19

A day in the life of sceptical radio jockey Arjun Pathak (Kartik Aryan) is about to turn his back on him: within minutes of the film’s opening, he is thrown into the middle of a major crisis. A man has entered, saying he will blow up Mumbai Sea Link if its demands are not met. And a few minutes later, a thunderstorm breaks out, and outside his window, Arjun sees parts of a landmark bridge crossing the sea in the distance.

Who is the unknown man? What do you want?

The voice on the phone becomes a beacon when the Aryan rank-hungry ruler Ankita Malaskar (Amruta Subhash), who does only what the ‘channel’ wants, morals should be abandoned. The caller wants a powerful politician to apologize for something he (the caller) believes has led to the deaths of three people, and he wants Arjun’s help. So, there is your argument: a journalist who claims to speak only the truth and nothing but the truth, and a desperate caller who wants his voice heard.

Dhamaka Teaser: Karthik Aryan shares breaking news, film 'Dhamaka' to release on Netflix, shared teaser

‘Dhamaka’, Korea’s 2013 film ‘The Terror Live’, sets the stage for the ever-increasing collision between TV channels and their relentless pursuit of high and low standards, as well as ordinary people with minor financial and social power. These are just some of the goal-setting shareware that you can use. And strangely enough, some of these people no longer believe that news anchors are an oracle. It is a theme that needs to be explored, but it is lost in the incomprehensible practice.

As a disgruntled TV presenter who wants his first-time place to come back only at cost, giving the mirrors of zero power ‘to look serious’, Aryan starts well enough. As Subhash does, as the manager of a solid TV channel who has not a single sensitive bone in his body, he barks and orders him to ‘go live, live’. But lately, you realize that the most important aspects of a thrilling game – the urgency of the situation, tension, and fear of the on-screen characters that they are supposed to feel – are gone.

That’s because everything that happens on-screen sounds subtle and impossible. There is no ‘news in the news’, not a single accident on the damaged bridge, no immediate fire action inside the newsroom, which feels real. The whole film sounds like a set. And everyone feels like they are making set-pieces.

This could be related to Bollywood’s failure to re-create truly friendly news. Somehow, too much exaggeration or too simple, there is no knife-wielding tension that runs in an electric-like environment when news is heard, and everyone works with a full check on the next day’s publication or next report. It is also possible that these characters never feel like flesh and blood, just plain rhetoric.

Dhamaka

Sample this. The news reporter just clapped his ear, and blood gushed out. We hear loud cries. What happened? You expect amazing peace, awesome reaction, explanation. But none of that happened. The late meaning comes later, but in the meantime, the film has plummeted to the point of depression.

Even the worst TV stations in real life with their screaming guests and toxic debates have the biggest drama possible in this fictional Barrosa 24/7. It is hard to believe that this from Ram Madhvani, ‘Neerja’ and ‘Aarya’ worked very well in creating credible characters, interesting situations while keeping us on edge. Here is a man moving on the edge of the mind; here is another one facing his demons, and their lives are hanging by a thread. And we don’t buy anything.
