Soon after the release of the teaser, the movie began to trend on social media with many applauding the look of Vicky Kaushal in the film.

The video opens with the lead carefully piecing together a document. The focus shifts to a pile of passports, each reflecting a different name – Ude Singh, Frank Brazil, Sher Singh, and the last one with ‘Udham Singh’ scribbled across it, being added to the stack. Zooming into a picture of the protagonist Sardar Udham Singh in the end, the teaser video sets the tone of a fascinating and engrossing tale of a patriot with many aliases but with a single mission in life.

The short clip with the talented duo of Vicky Kaushal and director Shoojit Sircar guaranteed an enthralling thriller drama; we certainly hope the film lives up to the hype.

The shooting of the movie was seemingly wrapped in December 2019; the pandemic didn’t help matters, and post-production of Sardar Udham took a much longer time. Sardar Udham is made on a massive budget and is set to be a big-scale biopic. Recently, Vicky Kaushal had shared a photo from the studio on social media, informed that he had finished dubbing for the movie.

Vicky Kaushal introduced his onscreen character with a first look poster, which was set in London, in 2019. He had written that “running my fingers through the bullet holes at Jallianwala Bagh, hardly did I realized that I would one day get a chance to re-live and represent the anger and suffering of the freedom fighter martyr.”

Vicky Kaushal wrote on his twitter while sharing the trailer on the birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, “I’m proud to share with you the story of Sardar Udham Singh ‘one man, one mission, many aliases’ #SardarUdham.”

The Sardar Udham Singh teaser is deficient in any dialogue, while showcasing the making of a false passport, and ends with the echoing of the gun-shots, defines the storyline of the film.

For those who need a refresher, in 1919 Michael O’Dwyer was the Lieutenant Governor of Punjab, and sent armed forces to Jallianwala Bagh where they fired on a gathering of defenseless protesters. The Jallianwala Bagh massacre deeply impacted freedom fighter Sardar Udham Singh, who assassinated Michael O’Dwyer in Westminster, London, in 1940 and was hanged for murder. Describing the insignificant story of the legendary Indian freedom fighter Sardar Udham Singh, the film goes through deep into his unlimited courage to revenge the death of his countrymen, in an event that shook the British Empire.

Apart from Vicky Kaushal, the cast of Sardar Udham Singh also including the names such as Shaun Scott, Banita Sandhu, Kirsty Averton, Amol Parashar, Stephen Hogan, Kirsty Averton, and many others.

Produced by Rising Sun Films and backed by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar, Sardar Udham Singh will have a premiere worldwide on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video during Dusheera on 16 October.

The actor is also preparing for his upcoming biopic on Sam Manekshaw titled “Sam Bahadur” a film by Meghna Gulzar, an upcoming comedy-drama of Shashank Khaitan “Mr. Lele” and “Takht” by Karan Johar. Vicky is also ready for Aditya Dhar’s high-concept visual spectacle film “The Immortal Ashwathama”.
