Lockdown In Chinese City Near The Border Of Vietnam

In the last three days, more than 70 cases of Coronavirus have been detected in 3.5 million Chinese cities near the border with Vietnam. China, the only major economy still adhering to the Zero-COVID policy, is wary of the outbreak as it prepares to host the Winter Olympics in Beijing.

Residents of some districts in Baise City, southern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, will remain trapped in their homes following an announcement that residents would not be allowed to leave the city.  “City-wide traffic regulations will be introduced,” Gu Junyan, deputy mayor, said in a briefing.

“Basically, cars and people can’t get in and out of the city …   The personnel management system is not strictly enforced, and people are moved unnecessary.”
Gu Junyan noted that residents of some small rural towns and counties under Baise’s jurisdiction are under strict house arrest, while residents of other areas are forbidden to leave their districts.   .. Bayes, about 100 kilometres from the Vietnamese border, discovered the first local incident on Friday, officials said travellers said they had returned home for a week’s Lunar New Year holidays.

Chinese authorities have constructed a thick wire mesh fence along their southern border since the pandemic to prevent illegal immigrants from Vietnam and Myanmar and possible Covid19 infections.

The coronavirus pandemic first occurred in Wuhan, Hubei two years ago, and China has taken a number of measures including local lockdown, mass testing, and contact tracking to eliminate the outbreak as soon as it is detected. Introduced the app to avoid the pandemics observed in the rest of the region.

Lockdown

Of the world.   After a surge in cases of delta and omicron mutant coronaviruses in several Chinese cities prior to the Olympics, 4,444 million people became trapped in their homes. Nearly all the affected people were able to return to their homes. Following more than 2,000 incidents, more than 13 million people in the northern metropolis of Xi’an were placed under strict house arrest for over a month in December.

Locals complained of food shortages and strict blockades by local civil servants, and patients were unable to receive serious treatment and in some cases died.

A total of 79 new cases were reported across the country on Monday, including 37 in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Meanwhile, Hong Kong’s ZeroCovid policy failed after a record number of new infections were announced over the weekend.

Authorities have warned that testing capabilities may need to be strengthened and antivirus protection may need to be strengthened. China’s borders with other parts of the world, including Hong Kong, are largely closed.

Baise, a city in southwestern China, stays home to residents to force the toughest curbs in the country’s toolbox to contain the increasing local infections of the COVID 19 battle, unnecessary from Monday I ordered you to avoid travelling.

Outbreaks in Bayes, which has a population of approximately 3.6 million and borders Vietnam, are negligible by global standards, but regulations, including non-mandatory bans, follow national guidelines to expedite outbreaks. Efforts are especially urgent during the  busy travel season for the Winter Olympics and Lunar New Year holidays, which begins on Friday and continues until February 20th.

Dozens of athletes in the game in the capital Beijing and northern Hebei have been tested positive and isolated, but the event is due to the lack of spread of closed-loop clusters and isolation from the general public.

Has not been seriously affected. Bayes, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, reported 37 domestic cases of confirmed symptoms on Sunday, up from the 6th of the previous day. According to the data, the National Health Commission should choose delivery rather than over-the-counter purchases whenever possible statement.

It also suspended non-critical business, public transport and school events and delayed the opening of border ports.

Lockdown
Key workers need a special path to travel within Bayes. According to NHC data, China reported 45 locally infected cases on February 6, including the bear market, up from 13 the day before.

Municipalities in southern Guangdong, Beijing and Tianjin also reported cases of sporadic local symptoms on Sunday. There were no new deaths, with 4,636 deaths. As of February 6, there were 106,419 cases of confirmed symptoms in mainland China
since the first outbreak in late 2019.

This includes both local and foreign infections. Countries that saw the outbreak of the coronavirus two years ago began suspending the Winter Olympics on Friday, with some western governments conducting a diplomatic boycott of how China is accepting its millions of populations.

Nevertheless, it proudly projected its power on the most global stage. The opening ceremony began shortly after Chinese President Xi Jinping and Chairman of the International Olympic Committee.

Thomas Bach arrived at the same trellis-covered National Stadium that hosted the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympic Games. After the lights dimmed in Beijing, Beijing became the first city in the world to host both the Winter and Summer Olympics.

And while some are away from the second pandemic Olympics six months later, many other world leaders are planning to attend the opening ceremony. Most notable is Russian President Vladimir Putin, who personally met Xi earlier in the day as a dangerous conflict unfolds on the Russian-Ukrainian border.

Lockdown
The Olympic Games and Opening Ceremony are always an exercise for the host country, an opportunity to showcase the country’s culture, assert its place in the world, show the best side of the country.

It’s something that China in particular has consumed for decades. The performance gap between Beijing and real life will be especially shocking at this year’s Olympic Games.
14 years ago, an opening ceremony in Beijing that featured massive fireworks displays and card game performers set a new standard for how to open the Olympic Games in a way that won’t be too expensive.

Since then there has been no match between host countries. There was a positive start to a Chinese event that is often mentioned in the media. Regardless of your perspective, China has arrived and is hosting another stadium performance called the Bird’s Nest, which was built in consultation with dissident artist China Ai Weiwei.

However, the hopes for a more open China accompanying this early Olympics have been dashed.

Olympic success in Beijing signifies Beijing’s status as a major player in the world chess scene. However, they have become a confirmation of China’s increasingly authoritarian turn among many outside the country, especially in the West.

The Chinese regime is crushing pro-democracy activism, tightening control over Hong Kong, becoming more confrontational with Taiwan, and arresting Muslim Uighurs in the far west. persecution that the US government and others call genocide.

In similar fashion to last summer’s Olympics in Tokyo, this summer’s Olympics are also under threat from the pandemic.

Lockdown
The first cases of COVID19 were identified in China’s Hubei province over two years ago; nearly 6 million people have died and hundreds of millions more around the world have fallen ill since then.

The host nation itself claims some of the lowest rates of death and illness from the virus, partly due to government-imposed lockdowns on anyone coming to or participating in the Olympics. The Winter Festival is immediately obvious.

As the Olympics draw near, China’s crackdown on dissent is also evident in the controversy surrounding Chinese tennis star Peng Shuai.

A former Communist Party official was accused of sexual assault by her last year, but she disappeared from public view. His accusations were quickly removed from the internet, and his discussion remains heavily censored.

Concerned for his safety, famous tennis players and others outside of China have asked on social media where Peng Shuai is? A surreal game of cat and mouse has since unfolded, with Peng making a brief appearance at a youth tennis event and speaking via video link with IOC’s Bach as part of an attempt to appease concerns about him.
China has demonstrated its ability under the shadow of these political stakes.

The crowd was entertained by performers dressed in colourful snow-white suits before the official ceremony began, including some who danced with the Olympics’ dwarf panda mascot festival.

The stadium was relatively full but was not operating at full capacity after authorities decided to allow a select group to attend the events.   There were many people holding their phones with lights on as they entered the trench.

Regardless of the geopolitical climate of the day, after the cauldron is lit on Saturday, the focus will shift largely to the athletes themselves and not the geopolitical issues of the day.

Lockdown
It is now up to alpine skiing superstar Mikaela Shiffrin to surpass dizzying expectations, having won three medals so far in the Olympics. How snowboarding sensation Shaun White will conquer his Olympic career and whether the sport’s current standard-bearer, Chloe Kim, will leave us in awe once again.

And if   There will be a medal for the Russian women in figure skating. China is hoping for the best from Eileen Gu, the 18-year-old American freestyle skier who competed in the hometown of her mother and won three gold medals.

During the competition, the conditions set forth by the Chinese authorities were in stark contrast to the festive atmosphere of the 2008 Olympics.

Hotel staff, immigration officers, and flight attendants were equipped with these devices. Wearing a head-to-toe mask and goggles to protect yourself from hazardous materials.

There is a daily regimen of testing for all participants, followed by extended quarantines for anyone who tests positive. Even so, there is no passage from the Olympic venues past the ubiquitous chain-link fences shrouded in cheery messages of a shared future within the city itself, one difference from the 2008 Olympics.

China itself has transformed in the years that followed. Second, it is an emerging global economic force that has made its biggest leap on the world stage by hosting these Olympics.

Now, a fully-realized superpower resides within them. Mr Xi, who led the 2008 Olympics, now rules the entire country and has promoted a cult of personality. Gone are the hopeful claims by Western organizers and governments that hosting the Olympics would pressure the ruling Communist Party to clean up what it called a questionable human rights record. human and become a more responsible international citizen.

The Chinese government has imprisoned more than a million members of minority groups – mostly Muslim Uighurs from the remote western region of Xinjiang – in mass concentration camps three decades after its military crushed massive pro-democracy protests in Tiananmen Square, killing hundreds, if not thousands of Chinese.

People have referred to them as Genocide Games because of the situation. In an anti-terrorism campaign, China says these camps serve as vocational education and training centres. He denies any human rights violations and claims to have restored stability to Xinjiang, an area he said in the months after the 9/11 attacks were plagued by extremism.

Lockdown

There is often little evidence. Such behaviour has led the leaders of the United States, Great Britain, Australia and Canada, among others, to impose a diplomatic boycott of the Games, avoiding appearances with the leaders.

Allowing their athletes to compete while still allowing China to compete.Outside the Olympic bubble that separates ordinary Peking Man from Olympic athletes and their minions, some have expressed excitement and pride in the world in front of them. Olympic souvenir collector Zhang Wenquan exhibited his merchandise while standing next to the 2008 mascot on Friday.

He was excited, but for many, the virus, which has undergone major changes, has eased the excitement. Compared to 2008, I expect fireworks to have a more significant effect this year. “I’m really looking forward to the opening ceremony. Actually, I wanted to go to the venue and check it. We tried hard to observe at the crime scene. However, due to fashion, there may not be a chance.
