PM Modi should not share the dais with Ajay Mishra Teni at the DGP convention 2021 in Lucknow, says Priyanka Gandhi.

It was said by the Congress leader that the Prime Minister Modi sharing dias with Teni, who happens to be the father of the primary accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri tragedy, Ashish Mishra, would be an insult to over 700 farmers who perished as a result of the farmers’ protest.

Highlights

  • Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra Teni was scheduled to attend the meeting at the Lucknow Police Headquarters, which was attended by Amit Shah and other officials.
  • According to Priyanka, the family members of farmers who were killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri riots are seeking justice for their loved ones.
  • According to Priyanka, it is the Prime Minister’s responsibility to ensure that the people receive just treatment.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, a senior Congress leader, escalated her criticism of the BJP-led Central Government over the Lakhimpur Kheri violence, which occurred on October 2. Earlier this week (November 20, 2021), she advised Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to share the dais with Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra Teni, whose son was arrested for mowing down four farmers in a rural area of Uttar Pradesh.

It would be an insult to nearly 700 farmers who died as a result of the farmers’ protest, said the Congress leader, if Prime Minister Modi shared the dais with Teni.

A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the repeal of the three farm laws, Priyanka Gandhi made her statement. The statement came ahead of a meeting between PM Modi and the DGPs and IGPs of all the states and union territories, as well as heads of the Central Armed Police Forces and Central Police Organizations.

All three ministers were scheduled to attend the meeting, which would also include the Prime Minister of the United States, which would take place at the police headquarters in Lucknow. Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, and Ajay Mishra Teni, the Minister of State for Home Affairs, were both set to attend as guests of honor.

After Repealing Three Farm Laws, What Comes Next? Modi Risks A Strong Leader Image To Keep BJP From Being Stigmatized As 'Anti-Farmer’

At a press conference held here today, she read aloud from a letter she had written to the Prime Minister, saying, “You may be aware that the main accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence, Ashish Mishra, is the son of a minister in your cabinet, which may have influenced your decision to prosecute him. Since the commencement of the tragedy, the government of Uttar Pradesh has made repeated attempts to silence the voice of justice. The Supreme Court noted that the government of Uttar Pradesh is attempting to shield a specific accused in the case.”

During a press conference, the Congress leader remarked that the families of farmers who died in the Lakhimpur Kheri tragedy are suffering from “intolerable misery” and are demanding justice. When I went to Lakhimpur Kheri, I had the opportunity to meet the relatives of the farmers who were slain in the incident. Ajay Mishra, the Minister of State for Home Affairs, has stated that they have little hope of receiving justice if he continues in his position.”

Following this, Priyanka emphasized that it is the responsibility of the country’s Prime Minister to ensure that the people are supplied with just outcomes.

According to the leader of the Congress, “Your cabinet member, Amit Shah, and the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, both sit on the same dais. You are the Prime Minister of this country, and it is your obligation to ensure that the people of this country, as well as the farmers, are treated fairly and equally.”

“You stated on Friday, in a speech to the public, that the government had taken an unprecedented step by repealing the three farm laws, citing the interests of both the nation and the farmers as justification. When it comes to farmers, you stated that you have no ambiguous motives. If these allegations are correct, then bringing justice to the victims of Lakhimpur Kheri should be your primary concern “She went on to say more.

The public will be sent a clear message if you continue to share the dais with Ajay Mishra Teni, indicating that you are side with people who are hiding criminals and will not be taken seriously.” Taking part will be an insult to the more than 700 farmers who died during the anti-farm legislation demonstration “Priyanka Gandhi wrote to Prime Minister Modi in a letter.

The Congress leader also asked that Teni be removed from his position as a member of the Union Cabinet.

When it comes to your concern for farmers, you should refuse to share the dais with the Minister of Home Affairs and insist that he be removed from his job as soon as possible,” she stated.

“As part of her appeal, Priyanka Gandhi called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to dismiss litigation against farmers that had been brought against them and to provide financial assistance to the families of farmers who died as a result of the farmers’ demonstrations.
