On Monday around 6:30 pm, the actor Rajat Bedi hit a man with his car while he was crossing the road, and later, the actor took the man to the hospital, where after being treated for two days, the man died on Wednesday.
Now, Rajat Bedi has been charged with death by negligence in the registered FIR against him. The actor has not been arrested yet.
Earlier, the FIR was registered against the actor for hitting the man with his car on Monday evening. Later, Rajesh Doot, the injured, was admitted to nearby Cooper Hospital in a very critical condition.
Earlier, the police registered a case following Section 279, which is rash driving, and Section 338, which is causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others, against the actor. Section 304- A, which is causing death by negligence, has not been added yet, following the victim succumbing to his wounds on Wednesday.
Babita Doot, wife of Rajesh Doot, the injured said that the incident took place when Rajesh Doot was returning from his work and the injured was also drunk and was hit by Rajat Bedi while crossing the road. After the accident, the actor took the injured to hospital and on this Rajat Bedi said while he was driving Rajesh Doot suddenly came in front of his car. He did not get any time to do anything, and this accident took place, but he was also assured that he would help Babita Doot and Rajesh Doot and was there with his driver Suresh.
After some time, the actor left the hospital, and he did not show up again, Babita Doot added; till now, the actor has not been arrested. Rajesh Doot was admitted to ICU as he was brought in a very critical condition and needed blood and oxygen support. Rajesh Doot is survived by his wife Babita Doot, and two children, Anshika and Tejasvi, who are 13 and 17 years old, respectively.
