Yami Gautam: We Wanted A Simple Wedding

In the trend of Big Fat Indian Weddings of the celebrities, this private and very simple ceremony grabbed a lot of attention via social media.

Yami Gautam, an actor by profession, seen in many films like Uri: The Surgical Strike, Vicky Donor, and many more, tied the knot with filmmaker Aditya Dhar in June. They did not have a fancy wedding and kept it a very simple and private function.

Many said it was because of the ongoing pandemic they had restrictions and did not opt for big fat wedding like others, but Yami Gautam made it very clear in her statement that even if there were no restrictions due to the pandemic, the couple would not have opted for a big, fancy wedding. They would have kept it in the same way they did it now.

Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar got married in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, and this ceremony was completed in the presence of only 20 guests. Yami Gautam has a huge fan base, and she has a different spark. The beautiful actor is 32, whereas her filmmaker husband is 38. Age is not an issue; as we say, love is blind and full of happiness.

The couple announced their wedding by posting it on Instagram, and it appeared as a surprise for their fans and said it was an ideal way for them to keep it private.

Yami also didn’t go for the fancy designer wedding lehenga; she chose her mother’s sari and the nose ring and a dupatta as more suitable for making her most memorable day the best one in her life. Even she did not ask for the make-up artist and hair artist, she posted a photo on Instagram doing her make-up on her own and her sister did her hair.

The actor also cleared that she celebrated this special occasion with her family. Both of them do not believe in any kind of pomp and show; as she says, you don’t have to prove anything to anyone and do whatever makes you happy cherish the moments. She said they had a traditional wedding with all the rituals and did not have a DJ; instead, they played Pahadi, Punjabi, and Kashmiri folks, and she added she never wanted food wastage, so the couple also took care of that. The whole rituals were completed with just 20 people.

It is said that the couple got close while shooting for their film Uri: The Surgical Strike and developed a good relationship while doing promotions for the same film.

The actor is currently looking forward to her next upcoming movie Bhoot Police, an adventure-horror-comedy and will be released on September 17, 2021, on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar. The film will also feature Saif Ali Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Arjun Kapoor.
