The release of Aryan Khan is all over the news, and the fans are celebrating this day, but apart from that, we have some news on amended laws from few states related to the online gaming platform.

Exclusive: Karnataka online gambling bill even outlaws games of skill

On October 7, an FIR was registered against the creators of the online sports platform “Dream 11” for running a gaming house. Earlier on September 21, legislation was passed by the Karnataka Legislature regarding the amendment of the Karnataka Police Act formed in the year 1963. Through that legislation, all types of gambling, including online mode is a non-bailable and cognizable offense. The Karnataka Police Amendment Act, 2021 was accepted and came into action on October 5.

Meanwhile, similar laws were also introduced in the states of Telangana, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu. The states were facing many challenges regarding the increase in the area of gambling beyond the rules that are mentioned under the law. The Madras High Court struck down the Tamil Nadu Gambling and Police Law, 2021, on August 3 and later decided to strike down on the amendment to the Kerala Gaming Act,1960, and according to that, the ban on online rummy had been imposed. 

After the law came into action, several online gaming sites have used geo lock for their apps and sites in Karnataka, to escape from the police action on the access made by any of the customers. But on October 7, FIR was registered against one of the known online gaming platforms, “Dream 11” for running a gaming house. 

Aryan Khan was released from jail

After a long wait of 26 days, Aryan Khan is released from jail after he was arrested in a cruise drug case on October 3. He walked out from Arthur Road Jail at around 11 am. He was granted bail from the Bombay High Court. His bail plea was rejected several times but at last, it was granted on a few terms and conditions. Narcotics Control Bureau gave a much different explanation for not allowing the bail like he can temper the evidence. 

Along with the news of bail, a new angle has come out in the case and that is about the money extortion. A witness of the cruise drug case came out with the statement that he has heard one of the officers talking about the bribe of amount Rs 25 crore, and from the amount, Rs 8 crore was supposed to be given to the Zonal Director of Narcotics Control Bureau, Sameer Wankhede.

Also, a minister, Nawab Malik, has accused Sameer Wankhede of forging the documents and using the reservation quota for clearing the Civil Services Examination, which he is not eligible for. Further investigation is still in process, but many are happy with the release of Aryan Khan.

The fans of Shahrukh Khan are celebrating the news and welcome Aryan Khan with high enthusiasm. While Aryan Khan was in jail, many actors and known names of the nation came out in support of Aryan. Aryan Khan has been released from jail but he will have to follow some of the conditions – he has to surrender his passport to the court, he can not leave Mumbai with permission and he has to appear before Narcotics Control Bureau every Friday.
