Dilip Joshi’s Childhood and Relationships

Dilip Joshi is a 53-year-old Indian actor, who was born on May 26, 1968, in the village of Gosa in Porbandar, Gujarat, India. Dilip is married to Jaymala Joshi and is the father of two children, Ritwik and Neeyati Joshi. 

Dilip Joshi had been engaged in acting in college and represented his college in numerous competitions. He was unable to dedicate himself full-time to his studies and failed when the results became known. During his studies, he received the Indian National Theatre Best Actor Award.

He is a popular Indian film actor and famous TV comedian for his role as Jethalal in the series Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashmah. In addition to TMKOC, he has appeared in many TV shows and films and is praised for his natural acting skills and expression.

When Dilip received an offer for Jethalal’s lead role in TMKOC, he turned it down because he was busy with another series. He was initially offered to play Jethal’s father in Champaklal Gada’s role on the show which was later played by actor Amit Bhatt.

Joshi has worked in many movies and television series. In 1989, in the movie Main Pyaar Kiya, he played Ramu’s role; he then worked in many movies, but did not have much success. Dilip then decided to leave Bollywood and pursue a career in television.

Joshi also starred in the Yeh Duniya Hai Rangeen Kya Baat Hai series, in which he played a South Indian. Later, he had important roles in series such as Ek Subh Mangal Savdhan Agadam, Bagdam Tigdam, Meri Biwi and Wonderful. Dilip Joshi has appeared in several Gujarati dramas, one of which was Bapu Tame Kamaal Kari alongside Sumeet Raghavan and Amit Mistry.

According to reports, he earns a monthly sum of around Rs 10-15 lakhs.

Dilip Joshi’s Life struggles

For the uninitiated, TMKOC was produced by Asit and Kumar Modi, and it was they who offered Dilip the role of Jethalal. The actors mentioned that he had a choice to play Champaklal instead of Jethalal. The actor said he refused to play Champaklal and decided to try out Jethalal’s role instead.

In an interview, the actor talks about his journey and struggles; he remembered his days of struggle, when he earned 50 rupees. For Dilip, the struggles began from the time he began acting as a child. The actor said acting was a risky business. Dilip added that his life has been a struggle since he came to the theatre at a time when it was taboo in society.

His talks about being unemployed for years before getting TMKOC went viral on the internet. The actor, who came from a Gujarati family, began his career with several small roles in Hindi films and television series, and eventually landed the popular TV series TMKOC. Since then, he has gained enormous popularity .

TMkOC ran for 12 years and the actor rose to fame for his role as Jethalal. Dilip Joshi who is known for his role as Jethalal Gada is today one of the most popular actors on Indian TV.

Dilip Joshi has won in every television award show the title of the best actor in a comedy role. He has consistently won Best Actor prizes over the past 10 years and is now one of the highest-paid actors on television.

As the best comedian, he received a number of awards, including the Zee Gold Awards, Lion Gold Awards and Indian Television Academy Awards. He received the 9th Indian Telly Award in 2009 for Best Actor in a Comic Role for Popular 2009. In the same category, he received the 4th Boroplus Gold Award in 2011 and Big Star Entertainment Awards for the most engaging actor, Apsara Awards for best acting in a drama series and Lion Gold Award for Best Actor in a Comedy in 2011, and also in the next consecutive years.

He stands out as the most talented actor on Indian television.
