In early December,  travellers from countries where variants were detected, such as South Africa, the United Kingdom, and  European Union countries, confirmed that they had to provide samples of cotton swabs at the airport. They cannot leave until the test results are available, and if they test positive, they will be admitted to Rokunayak Hospital. Samples are sent to a genomic test to determine which variant is infected.
