In a major event, it had been announced that Prime minister Narendra Modi would inaugurate the latest mega-project: the Purvanchal Express launched recently. It is known to us that the inauguration will be held in the Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. In addition, the focus will also be drawn towards the airshow that has will be witnessed by the prime minister during the inauguration.
As reported by an official report, it stated that the inauguration would take place on 16th November 2021 in the Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. The inauguration will take place at around 1:30 PM. Moreover, the people attending the show will also witness an Airshow by the Indian Air Force.
What is the Purvanchal Express?
Purvanchal is an Express train railway of the city of Kolkata that will operate every week. The train will connect the cities of Kolkata with Gorakhpur via the Siwan district of Bihar. The train will have only 17 stops.
The train would be specifically used for long distanced journeys and cover the distance throughout the day. The train will run at a 50km/h and cover a distance of about 860 kilometres. The train will halt at various junctions such as Burdwan, Durgapur, Asansol, Jhajha, Gidhaur, Barauni, Kiul, Chhapra, Siwan and Gprakhpur. The rest of the stations are not mentioned as of now.
As reported from various sources, the Purvanchal Express shares its rake with 15049/50 Kolkata-Gorakhpur Express. The journey will take place via Ballia and Kolkata Gorakhpur Express. The three trains are together referred to as the Purvanchal express.
The Express has the same facility as all the other express trains. It provides the facility of AC chair car, Second class sitting and even General sitting type of coaches. This would ensure that the Express could be afforded by people belonging to different economic statuses. All the classes require a prior reservation for the seats except the General class. Moreover, the Tatkal scheme is available on the train also. This train has gained popularity with the travellers and is preferred because the journey is completed within a day. As a result, the people have to book two months prior before travelling. Also, Tatkal tickets usually remain unavailable because of their high demand.
The train is among the popular trains linking Howrah with North Bihar and Northwest Uttar Pradesh.
The timing of the Express varies for the different trains and covers a distance of 880 km approximately. The Express remains operational during the various days of the week.
The expressway has around six lanes and was constructed with a funding of about 22500crore INR. One of the important reasons the train was launched was to boost the economy of the state of Uttar Pradesh.
The mega-event has collided with the time when the political parties have enrolled themselves for elections. This can be considered as propaganda to gain the votes of the public.
Rafale, Sukhai on display in the expressway:
As sourced by the district administration mentioned by the PTI, the fighter airway would also be on display in the expressway. Prime Minister Modi and defence minister Rajnath Sigh have stated that the C-130 Hercules would also be displayed on the airstrip.
Previously in July 2018, Modi started the foundation of the Purvanchal Expressway in Azamgarh.
Controversies on Purvanchal Express:
Recently, Akhilesh Yadav, the chief of Samajwadi Party, has pointed fingers at the BJP party with the accusation that they have compromised on the quality of the Purvanchal express to reduce the costs of the project and to inaugurate it as soon as possible before the assembly polls take credit of the launch. He has, moreover, referred to the project as half-baked.
Moreover, Yadav added that during his power, the foundations of the Lucknow Agra expressway were laid down And also mentioned that the train was well built in such a way that even the train would not experience any jerking at a speed of 100 km/h.
He further added that if the party is re-elected, they will create a market along the expressway and ensure all the facilities.
The Samajwadi has inaugurated the newly launched expressway by offering flowers. Moreover, the train will be operational soon and make a way in the expressway.
Distinct Features of the Purvanchal Express:
The Express consists of six lanes, and the project has been completed in 36 months, with the costs of the project summing up to 22,500 crore INR. Moreover, one of the important features of the expressway is that it consists of a 3.5 Km airstrip that will be used to rescue people in case of emergencies. It can also be used for the landing and flight of fighter planes.
The Express has reduced the period of completion of the journey from Lucknow to Ghazipur. It will take around three and a half hours to finish the journey between the two junctions. 18 flyovers, seven railway bridges, and seven long bridges have been constructed along with the Purvanchal Express.
The expressway will be advantageous for the farmers as they would be able to produce the capital directly to the state. which will also accelerate the business.
One of the interesting features is that the expressway development has also initiated the plantation of trees and the arrangement of rainwater harvesting systems.
With this, we hope the train networks keep on increasing by the days. This will provide employment opportunities to the people belonging to the weaker sections of society.
