A middle-class man and his family are trying to buy a dream car for their kids with their limited income. As the best feature film, the movie won a National Film Award at 58th National Film Awards. The film was a super hit and collected $45 million.

3 Idiots

The movie “3 Idiots” is an Indian Hindi comedy released in the year 2009 starring Amir Khan, Sharman Joshi, Kareena Kapoor, Boman Irani, and R. Madhavan. The movie was directed and written by Rajkumar Hirani and was produced by Vidhu Vinod.

The film is adapted from a novel named “Five Point Someone” written by Chetan Bhagat. Three friends are the subject of the film who are dealing with different pressure of society and the Indian education system.

The movie collected Rs 4.60 billion and was made with a budget of Rs 550 million. Positive reviews and appreciation were received by the film.

The movie “Bum Bum Bole” is directed by Priyadarshan, starring Darsheel Safary, Rituparna Sengupta, Atul Kulkarni, and Ziya Vastani, released in the year 2010. The movie is based on the Iranian movie “Children of Heaven”, released earlier in the year 1997, and was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

The title of the movie is taken from a song from a very famous film “Taare Zameen Par”, another film by Darsheel Safary. The film was very much appreciated and was loved by every age group. The movie collected Rs 1.09 crore. 

English Vinglish

The movie “English Vinglish”, is an Indian comedy film with Sri Devi in the lead role.  Gauri Shinde has written and directed the film and was released in the year 2012. The movie is the mark of actor Sri Devi back in the Bollywood industry after 15 years.

The movie depicts the struggle of a housewife who does not have much knowledge of the English language and for that others get a reason to taunt her and also how she overcomes that problem and proves herself. The movie also features guest appearances from legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan.

The film was later re-shot in the Telugu and Tamil language. A Rs 10 crore budget film, collected Rs 92 crore. A screening of the movie was held at the Toronto International Film Festival as well in the year 2012.

The movie received praise from the critics and the work of Gauri Shinde as a director and Sri Devi’s performance was also praised. Gauri Shinde also won the award for the ‘Best Debut Director’ for this film in the year 2012. The movie gained recognition at various international film festivals.

OMG – Oh My God

The movie “OMG- Oh My God” is an Indian comedy-drama film released in the year 2012. Umesh Shukla is the director and writer of the film, actor Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar in the main lead.

The movie plot is somewhere based on an Australian movie named ‘The Man Who Sued God’ released in the year 2001. In the movie, a male character is the focus who does not believe in god and just thinks of his business and after a natural disaster, he decides to take god to court and that becomes a big fight for him but he fights with God by his side.

The movie crossed the Rs 100 crore box office club. The performance of Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar was praised by critics and audition as well. The movie was re-shot in Kannada and Telugu language, meanwhile, the makers are working on another part of the movie with Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam, and Pankaj Tripathi.

If you are talking about family films, the movie “Munna Bhai M.B.B.S” is a must-watch movie. The movie is an Indian comedy starring Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, and Gracy Singh in the lead role released in the year 2003. The movie was directed by Rajkumar Hirani.

The movie plots like a goon named Munna Bhai played by Sanjay Dutt acts like a doctor in front of his parents who have a dream of seeing their son as a doctor. The movie was a super hit and resulted in a sequel movie named ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’, and the third part of the movie is expected soon. The plot revolves around a middle-class family who tries to get their land seized by a builder named Khurana. This movie is a perfect example if you say that a film can be a success without stars.

The story and performance were very much appreciated by everyone. A National Film Award for Best Feature Film was also given to the movie (Hindi) at 54th National Film Awards. Later there were re-shoots of the film in Kannada and Tamil language. The movie collected Rs 66.8 million at the box office and was a success.
