Ayurvedic doctor’s Greater Noida home was robbed, taking ₹25 Lakh in cash, and his stepdaughter was murdered.

In a distressing incident, the 14-year-old stepdaughter of an ayurvedic doctor in Noida was tragically murdered, and a substantial sum of Rs 25 lakh was allegedly looted from their residence in Greater Noida. The incident took place on a Tuesday afternoon when the girl was alone at home while her parents had gone to their clinic with their two younger children. The Ayurvedic doctor identified as Sudarshan Bairagi, originally from Meerut district, currently resides in Saraswati Enclave in Purana Sutiyana village under Ecotech-3 police station.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Noida) Anil Kumar Yadav, the victim, Shilpi, was the daughter of the Ayurvedic doctor’s wife from her previous marriage. Ayurvedic doctor and his wife, Sujata, also known as Saiba before marriage, have two toddler sons, aged two and four. On the fateful day, the couple left their home around 11 a.m., taking their sons with them. Bairagi had to attend his clinic in Sector 93 and purchase a new phone for his wife, as her old one had broken the previous day.

It was during the family’s absence that the unfortunate incident unfolded. Shilpi, the Ayurvedic doctor’s stepdaughter, was left alone at home. When the family returned around 1:30 p.m., they discovered Shilpi unresponsive with a cloth tied around her neck. They immediately rushed her to a private hospital in Noida, but she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

In addition to the tragic loss of their daughter, Bairagi informed the police that a significant amount of ₹25 lahks in cash was missing from their home, which had also been ransacked. According to Bairagi’s complaint, he had recently received a cash payment of ₹23.5 lahks from the sale of a plot. A partial payment was made in cash, of which ₹23.5 lahks was kept at home. Additionally, an approximate amount of Rs. 1.5 lakh was also stored in the residence. In total, Bairagi reported a sum of Rs. 25 lahks missing from their home.

However, during the investigation, inconsistencies arose in Bairagi’s statements. Upon cross-verification of the plot sale, it was discovered that Bairagi had sold the plot for around ₹14 lahks, of which only ₹5 lahks was paid to him in cash. Moreover, there were discrepancies in other aspects of Bairagi’s account, casting doubt on the accuracy of his claims.

Family members of the Ayurvedic doctor’s expressed suspicions about a local man who was taken into custody for questioning. They believed that this individual, who hailed from a nearby village, was aware of the substantial amount of cash kept at the Ayurvedic doctor’s residence. In response to Ayurvedic doctor complaint, an FIR (First Information Report) was registered against a man named Pradeep, a native of Meerut, at the Ecotech-3 police station.
