Nowadays, mobile phones have become an integral part of our lives. People don’t mind spending money on a good smartphone that would last for an extended period. And in some cases, the property of wireless charging is also considered while purchasing a phone, and lastly, the RAM status of the mobile phone. The mobile brands are continuously trying to improvise the models so that the specification of the newly launched mobile phones can attract a wide range of customers. However, many manufacturers have launched mobile phones during the previous year which did not quite meet to our expectations at that price range.

Let us move forward with the article to know what are the mobile phone brands and their models, which were an absolute disgrace in the smartphone era and should not be purchased in 2022.

Top 10 Worst Mobile Brands in India to Purchase in 2022

1. Nokia:

Nokia G10 was founded in September of the year 2021. Nokia used to be a renowned brand since its first launch in India. However, it didn’t quite stand true to its value in the market during recent years. The mobile phone could not maintain its standard as the users faced charging issues and did not promise a software update.

In addition, recent trends have shown that people prefer compact mobile phones that can be carried anywhere and everywhere. But, the manufacturers of Nokia are launching bulky phones, which seems quite problematic in itself. Apart from that, the smartphone does not support 5GHz broadband speed.

The smartphone is initially sold for 14,999 INR but is it worth it? Delayed monthly software updates along with the reduced quality of quality and design is a hindrance for the consumers who want to use their smartphone for a span of three or more years.

Other models of Nokia that were launched in the previous years had issues with the devices after two or three years of their usage. The problems were primarily associated with the charging point becoming dysfunctional or the battery draining faster. Along with it, the phone brightness is questionable under direct sunlight.

2. Motorola:

Motorola has re-entered the competition in the smartphone market by launching the new series named Motorola Edge Plus. It is regarded as the first mid-range flagship phone that was launched by the Lenovo-owned company. The mobile phone brand has faced a difficult start as the consumers have complained about screen-related issues. For a user purchasing a mobile phone in the year 2021, 5G connectivity has become an essential specification that is not present in the Motorola Edge series launched in the year 2021.

Another drawback regarding the phone is that the phone is cumbersome, and the plastic body makes it more prone to fingerprints and scratches.

Although the phone is bulky, the weight is evenly distributed. The phone comes with an LCD, and the cameras do not stand true to their specification. The camera can not cope with the quality of images in the low-light environment.

The phone’s display has a maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz, but the mobile phone did not respond efficiently when operated in the adaptive refresh rate mode.
Apart from that, the phone’s battery performance is outstanding. The phone will last for a day with a 5000mAh battery if the user is not a hard-core gamer.
Previously in the year 2020, Motorola Edge did not face much competition in the smartphone market, but as the smartphone market is progressing by the year, it has faced extensive competition, which brings us to the statement 26,000 INR is not worth wasting on the phone.

3. OnePlus:

OnePlus used to be the premium quality mobile phone for android users because of its configuration. In the previous year, the world has experienced the launch of the OnePlus 9 Series and the OnePlus Nord Series. While the former has mainly heating issues and poor performance of front cameras, the latter seems problematic for various reasons.

OnePlus Nord 2 questions the security of the users. There have been cases that were put in the light where people encountered sudden phone blasts in the ideal condition which resulted in the OnePlus brand compensating the victims.

OnePlus Nord 2

According to various data, the consumers faced heating issues, and many bugs were not fixed. OnePlus Nord 2 has merged with the Oxygen OS version of Android, which has the same features as Oppo. The merge of Oxygen OS with Colour Os is not appreciated by the users and ultimately the Nord Series have been assigned with the tag of Flagship Killer.

4. Samsung:

Samsung as a brand is untouchable but the fact that the low budget phones do not come with a decent configuration and one has to spend a significant amount of money from their pockets to get the basic features in their mobile phones that should have been promised by the manufactures makes it to the list of the worst branded phones.

Samsung has come up with the M series, F Series, and the A-Series, which come in different price range so that everyone can enjoy the in-hand feel. The brand in China uses the Exynos processor.

The Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G: A Good Premium Phone, But Is It Worth The Extra Money?

However, the mobile phone had undergone some modifications when it was launched in India. The processor used is Snapdragon, and the processor is not up to the mark compared to the price Samsung charges for its devices.
The design of Samsung Phones can never be criticized, but the material quality of the build of the phone is questionable.

Samsung has referred to it as glasstic which is a combination of both plastic and glass but the material is more prone to scratches and fingerprints.
The midrange mobile phones launched by Samsung struggles extensively to catch up with the other mobile phones in the same range in the single, and multi-core tests.

The camera performance is not satisfied with the specifications Samsung has mentioned for the mobile phones. The phone camera can not meet the expectations under low light conditions.
Another issue with the phone is its pricing. Samsung A52 which is priced at 35000, does not offer a 5G connectivity which is offered by the other brands in the competitive market.
On the other hand, one has to spend a considerable amount of 40,999 INR to get the 5G connectivity in the Samsung A52s, which has almost the same configuration as the former phone except for a slightly more advanced processor.

Given that many budget-friendly phones are arising in the Indian market, which provides all the specifications one could ask for, Samsung needs to work on its pricing.

5. LG:

There used to be a time when LG used to be a tough competition in the market, and people responded positively about the phone, but LG has lost its charm. LG has launched the model named LG WP41 Pro in February in the year 2021.

Even though the mobile phone seems to be out of stock in many online markets, the gadget has failed to mark its territory. The mobile comes with a processor MediaTek Helio G35 which is pretty basic in terms of processor. Receiving a phone with an outdated processor at a price range of 14,990 INR does not seem appealing. To add to the cake’s topping is the fast battery draining issue with awful camera quality.
LG has gained recognition throughout the times in terms of mobile phones because it provides the best user interface. LG should probably develop a better model to restore its brand value.

6. Oppo:

Oppo has manufactured good-quality smartphones in recent years. But, one of the mobile phones that were not appealing to the users despite its considerable pricing is Oppo A54s. The only pros of the phone are that it is developed with a triple-lens sensor where the primary sensor is competent, and the other two sensors are awful. In the price range of 13,500 INR, one can not expect high-definition pictures. But at least, something should be provided by the manufacturer to compensate for the low system performance.

Another model of Oppo Oppo F19 Pro that was released in the previous year shows the same configuration as Oppo F17 pro. When both the phones have the same layout, why should you purchase the former phone by spending extra money on the same device?

7. Redmi:

The thing with Redmi is that Redmi has launched phones with the same configuration at a higher price. Redmi Note 10s comes at 14,999 INR with the processor MediaTek Helio G95. In contrast, the customers can purchase a better quality smartphone in a price range of 17,999 INR with a better processor.

In addition, the device has failed to stand true to the camera performance. Redmi gadgets are often recommended and opted for by people because of their camera quality.
Other quality concerns include touch being unresponsive, frequent lags in the phone. Thus, as a result, Redmi makes it to the list of the Top Worst Phone to purchase in the year 2022.

8. Realme:

Realme 6 Series has worked well in the market because it provides some extraordinary features in the given price range. It comes with a powerful processor and a robust refresh rate of 90 Hz with Helio G90T. As a result, the brand was well received by the consumers. But, the same response is not received in the case of Realme 8 Pro.

Realme 8 Pro is not a bad phone, but the fact that it shares similar specifications as Realme 7 Pro questions the manufacturers of Realme, saying “Where’s the advancement?” Why would one pay an extra 2000 INR for a phone with the same features as the predecessor?

9. Vivo:

The fact that Vivo makes it to the list of the worst branded smartphones is that the device does not operate above the notion of value for money. The apparatus of Vivo does not provide the specifications one should receive in the premium price range. The Vivo phones have also turned to be a huge disappointment in terms of heavy gaming, the brand has also been heavily criticized for their sloppy software update and management.

As a result, Vivo has successfully made itself among the top brands of smartphones that should not be purchased in the year 2022.

10. Apple:

It is one of the most controversial brands included in the list. Well, iPhones are the best-selling phones that one should purchase if one can afford them. It is because an iPhone lasts longer than an Android phone at the same price. It provides seven years of the software upgrade, and the smooth UI performance will make it worth the long haul if one takes proper care of it.

But the fact that iPhone 13 has almost the same configuration as iPhone 11 and 12 makes it questionable if one should pay an extra sum to get the same format.

Apart from that, it is not a bad phone. The fact iPhone is charging 10000 INR more by selling a phone with the exact specification makes it disappointing.

Verdict:

Mobile phones are constantly undergoing advancements to meet the needs of users. Some brands have released mobile phones that could be considered as best-selling phones in both the factors- quality and pricing. The brands mentioned fall in the list of top-selling brands in the country, so one expects better performance for their models.

While the other smartphones of these brands are worth buying but these smartphones are the ones that I would not give a double thought to skip away from my bucket list.
