Terrifying Texas Shooting Of 19 Elementary Kids, Shook The World

A boy shooter kills at least 19 young children and two adults at an elementary school in Texas on Tuesday, blaming furious President Joe Biden for the U.S. gun lobby and ending the country’s mass shooting cycle.

I swore that. The attack on Yuvalde, a small community about an hour from the Mexican border, was the deadliest shooting in a few years at a US school and the latest in a series of bloody gun violence across the United States.

It was a thing. “It’s time to put this pain into action for all the citizens of this country and all the parents,” Biden said in an emotional voice.

“It’s time to let people who obstruct, delay, and thwart sane gun control laws know that we’ll never forget them,” he said.  We have to ask ourselves, as a nation, when will we confront the gun lobby in God’s name? When in God’s name will we do what we all suspect needs to be done?

19 children, 2 adults killed in Texas in the deadliest school shooting since Sandy Hook - Los Angeles Times

Texas Governor Greg Abbott, addressing an earlier news conference, named the suspect as Salvador Ramos, an 18yearold resident and a US citizen.  “He shot and killed, horrifically and incomprehensibly,” Abbott said.

The gunman is believed to have gunned down his grandmother before entering Robb Elementary School wearing body armour, carrying a handgun and rifle. Texas Department of Public Safety officials confirmed that the man shot his grandmother before entering the school.

Earlier, the officials said that officers responding to the attack killed the gunman, adding later that two adults were also killed.  There is footage of small groups of children weaving through parked cars and yellow buses as they flee the school under police escort. The school teaches students aged between seven and ten.

This is the worst case of its kind since the 2012 Sandy Hook shootings in Connecticut, killing 20 children and 6 employees. The White House ordered the flag to be raised to mourn the victims.

The death of the victim sent a wave of shock to a country still hurt by the horrors of Sandy Hook. Immediately after the attack, Robb Elementary, which teaches more than 500 predominantly Hispanic and economically disadvantaged students, urged parents not to rush their children.

” Immediately following the attack, the school said on its website, “We will be notified to pick up the students after everyone has been explained.”  “It doesn’t happen anywhere else”

Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz, who claims gun rights, tweeted that he and his wife “lifted the horrific Yuvalde shooting children and their families in prayer.”

However, Senator Chris Murphy, a Connecticut Democrat who shot Sandy Hook, eagerly called for concrete action to prevent further violence.

“It’s not inevitable, these kids weren’t unlucky. Murphy said in the Senate in Washington,” It’s happening only in this country, not anywhere else. Little kids are happening that day.

There is no other place to go to school thinking that I might be shot. ” “I’m on this floor, begging, literally begging my colleagues with my hands and knees. Find a way to move forward here. Work with us to find a way to pass this unlikely bill. “

The deadly attack in Texas follows this month’s series of mass shootings across the United States. The Buffalo, New York grocery store massacre happened on May 14, when an 18-year-old shooter killed 10 people.

A self-proclaimed white supremacist wearing heavy body armour and an AR15 rifle live-streamed the attack after being reportedly targeted at a store due to the large African-American population in the region.

The next day, a man closed the door of a church in Laguna Woods, California, and fired at a Taiwanese-American congregation, killing one and injuring five.  Despite repeated mass shootings, several gun law reform initiatives in the US Congress have failed, and state and local governments have tightened or weakened their regulations.

The National Rifle Association has been instrumental in fighting stricter US gun control. Abbott and Cruz will be listed as speakers at a forum later this week in a powerful lobby in Houston, Texas.

The United States will suffer 19,350 firearm murders in 2020, about 35% more than in 2019, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said in the latest data.
