Movie Review – Sooryavanshi: Akshay Kumar’s High-Octane Action Film Is Your Diwali 2021 Gift This Year

Finally released 19 months later, Sooryavanshi is just like the traditional Hindi cinema festival, bringing back the whistles and cheers at the theater after a long time. Sooryavanshi is inspired by the act of brand director Rohit Shetty, and Akshay Kumar brings it in abundance.

Sooryavanshi is not a film of three heroes as posters and trailers might try to make you believe. Akshay Kumar’s action-packed action film starring Ajay Devgn, Singham’s role, and Ranveer Singh, who plays Simba, 30 minutes ago.

The 30 Minutes highlights the film with its high-octane action, explosive vehicles, stunning hand-drawn warfare plans for a new level, and three action heroes in excellent condition.

Sooryavanshi begins after the 1993 bombing of Mumbai. Thirteen years later, when the terrorist group returned to work and organized another operation, DCP Veer Sooryavanshi (Akshay Kumar), head of the Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad, was given the task of locating and stopping the attack.

With hardcore masala movies, it’s easy to imagine that you can leave your brain at home and enjoy the feeling. But with a film like Sooryavanshi, which presents countless characters on the screen, you need to be the one to watch and join in sequence.

 

That being said, Sooryavanshi is not driven by good writing and has no unusual doubts that can bring about nail-biting times. However, it keeps you on edge with the great joy of watching that supreme act.

Shetty chooses a variety of traits – the love affair between Sooryavanshi and his wife Riya (played by Katrina Kaif), their relationship with their son Aryan, his relationship with members of his ATS team – and brings them together to reach a successful climax.

 

While Devgn’s Singham was very passionate and Ranveer’s Lion was one, Akshay’s Sooryavanshi is a mix of both. He’s strong in the squares that need him to be that, arousing laughter in simple squares or the fear of his crash into a helicopter. Although in some areas, Akshay struggled to stay in shape and looked confused by the busy history.

Sooryavanshi accelerates its second phase where all tensions grow, and things get more fun. Yunus Sajawal’s screen is attractive and catchy but a little small.

Even the central interviews of Farhad Samji, Sanchit Bendre, and Vidhi Ghodgadnkar do not leave a lasting impression.

By working creatively, the film gets perfect marks. Katrina, along with her much better than before Hindi, is as convincing as a loving wife and abusive mother.

Then there is the beautiful series of supporting actors, including co-commissioner Vikram Bedi (Javed Jaaferi), whose powerful voice adds strength to the role he plays.

Among the terrorists, the mastermind of the Mumbai explosion, Bilal (Kumud Mishra) and Rashker chief Omar Hafiz (Jackie Shroff), and his sons played by Abhimanyu Singh and Mr. Jun, lived up to their role.

Gulshan Grover, Nikiten Dheer and Sikander Kher play a small but important role. Rohit, unwilling to investigate in the gray area, assures that his good men are very good, and the bad ones don’t even try to look good.

In the midst of all this, the recurrence of Tip Tip Barsa Pani could not have been avoided. I could not watch it after a few seconds.

Or maybe we can’t think of anyone other than Raveena Tandon in that yellow saree. Katrina tried hard but to no avail. As for Akshay, he looked better with Raveena and perhaps, he should have just said no to this remake.

And again, Rohit Shetty takes the opportunity to announce another exit. But from now on, go and see Sooryavanshi make your Diwali even more special.

 

Sooryavanshi Movie Review 

 

Rohit Shetty has cleverly expanded his police career over the years – keeping the audience involved and fans of the strongest type on the sidelines.

After the Singham series (titled Ajay Devgn) and then Simbaa (starring Ranveer Singh), now starring in Sooryavanshi (Akshay Kumar), amidst a host of fans, drama, and loud theater.

Sooryavanshi’s character was cunningly announced at the end of Simba. The film has all the features, attitude, style, show, and power of the heavy star expected in Rohit Shetty’s contribution.

Like Simba, even this proverbial police action is narrated by Ajay Devgn. He reminds us of the several terrorist attacks Mumbai experienced.

Starting from the 1993 serial outbreak to the 2008 terrorist attacks at many historic sites in Mumbai, including the Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT).

The story in the film continues as the biggest attack yet to take place in the city, as some of Lashkar’s sleeping cells are activated, and it is found that 600 pounds of RDX leftover from the subsequent ’93 attacks were used for a purpose.

Enters DCP Veer Sooryavanshi, with a strong mission and lots of garam khoon to protect the city from major attacks.

He is so dedicated and inspired to his work that even his family, his wife Riya (Katrina Kaif), and son Aryan came for a second time at his big job. With a plot across the border, the film revolves around the thought of revenge.

While the story itself plays safely (basic and predictable), the action is dangerous and exciting (Suniel Rodrigues and Rohit Shetty).

The chase between John and Veer (Sikander Kher) on the streets of Bangkok is a sight to behold. But don’t worry if it seems to be inspired by Carrie-Anne Moss’s bike and key maker in The Matrix Reloaded.

Just as Ajay Devgn’s Bandra-Worli Sea Link sequence of Singham Returns action was inspired by Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible III.

However, Sooryavanshi is assigned lengths and clichés with good planning, especially in the first half.

Period of posting captures uploaded action and dhamma. Akshay Kumar presents commendable work. From his entry for this constant shooting – he forgives his act of police chief.

In addition to the high physical adrenalin rush, a dozen high-speed chases feature cars, bikes, and helicopters, as Akshay Kumar demonstrates his unquestionable skills.

All in all, it is Akshay’s show to its star power and the presence of a screen that is coming to an end.

Katrina Kaif looks beautiful on-screen, and her provocative movement in the iconic song ‘Tip Barsa Paani’ is undoubtedly worthy of applause. Still, you can’t imagine Bollywood’s first ‘Mast Mast’ girl, Raveena Tandon.

Ajay Devgn and Ranvir Singh (literally) in the second half elevate the film and add an amazing punch. Like Sangram Bhalerao and Bajirao Singham, respectively, the 3 actors stole the show in the few squares they have together.

The combined group includes Jackie Shroff as the leader of the terrorist group Omar Afeez, and the other group members including Abhimanyu Singh, Nikitin Dheer, Gulshan Grover, and Kumud Mishra, contributed significantly to the conspiracy.

Jaaved Jaaferi’s exposure of ATS head Kabir Shroff, on the other hand, plays a key role in his critical policy role.

Although Sooryavansi’s background sets the mood, the songs are not memorable. An improved version of ‘Najaa’ is a worm, but we can’t hear it in the film. However, the trio dancing to Daler Mehndi’s ‘Aila Re Aillaa’ is fun.

Veer Sooryavanshi, Akshay Kumar, has successfully taken the costume to his predecessors (Singham and Simba). With a lot of flying and slow-moving cars, this is a great Diwali fun game for you. And if you’re a fan of high-power action movies, go for it!
